I hate it when pitbull owners insists that pitbulls are loveable and sweet pets and it is the owner's fault if they attack a person or another animal. They have natural aggressive tendencies toward other dogs and animals.Highly protective of his owners and the owner's property, it will fight an enemy to the death.

These are my suggestions:

Owners should be carefully screened and they have to meet certain requirements.
All pitbull owners should be required to register their dogs. Failure to do so will mean paying hefty fines, some jail time and confiscation of their unlicensed pets.
Pitbulls should be spayed and neutered. No ordinary person should be allowed to breed pitbulls, only licensed ones.
Pitbull owners should be required to get some form of dog insurance.
Owners can walk their pitbulls only if they put dog mouth guards on them.
Pitbulls should not be let roaming around in the front yard. Owners should be required to have a dog house.

Unfortunately none of these suggestions, we're they already required, would have prevented this horrible situation. The dog was kept in but got out when someone left the gate open . Since these dogs are so dangerous they are a menace to society. And this dog wasn't protecting his owner's property - it ran across the street to attack. In my opinion this dog should be put down and if the owner just gets "cited" it will be an injustice to this young woman.

@doglover... you are obviously the one that needs to be muzzled to prevent you from speaking Dumb shit. You obviously are no expert with dogs and I bet you have never owned a pitbull. U need to change your name from doglover to prejudicelover as u surely are towards specific breeds. Should we muzzle and force spay and neuter methods on specific human races because they are singled out in the media (which they are a bunch of idiots who just want the ratings) as being more aggressive and violent? NO! So we shouldn't with Dog breeds either. Hold the owner responsible not the dog. I've owned 5 pitbulls and they have never shown any aggression towards humans or other dogs. Add a matter of fact i have a 4 1/2 month puppy pit and she has been attacked twice by small breed dogs and both times my puppy didn't fight back. So before you start singling out specific breeds, do your homework before you believe everything the media wants you to believe.
I welcome your response or any other responses from other prejudice dog breed haters.

I hope the poor girl recovers. Also, I am tired of dog lovers comparing dogs to humans. Dogs are not humans. Human laws are for human safety. Animal regulations, (yes animals are property of humans) are for animals including man-made animals such as dogs. All dogs should be muzzled when out in public. In fact, dogs should not be in public. Enjoy and contain your pet at home on your own property and quit polluting public parks and beaches with its filth. Contain means the animal does not escape your property to do harm to any other animal or human.

Bet you $1000 that my pure bred American Pit Bull Terrier will not bite you even if you threatened or attacked him.

My only hope us is that this little girl gets better soon as it is terrible that this has happened to someone. Yet I have been face to face with an American pit bull terrier and it was eyeballing us but once it saw we didn't mean any harm it relaxed and carried on.
