Dottie--even the CDC says Lyme is probably under diagnosed by a factor of 10., check their website. Given that the British Government has recently announced that ALL LYME BLOOD TESTS WILL BE CONDUCTED BY THEIR BIOWARFARE FACILITY (PORTON DOWN) in the Rare & Imported Pathogens Lab/Dept, I think we're dealing with something a bit more dangerous than a disease that's "easy to treat & hard to get."

I have no idea how hard it is to get Lyme in Texas, but here in the Northeast it's an epidemic. I have had it for 3 years--despite many months of antibiotics-- & everyone I know either has it or a friend or relative has it. It's a major topic of conversation here because it's extremely EASY TO GET AND VERY HARD TO TREAT unless it's diagnosed very early, which is unusual. My experience is typical--debilitating, devastating neurological & physical consequences.... THAT'S why "all the news about lyme." Honestly.

Given the horrific nature of this disease (mostly unknown to the public), and given the fact that decreasing the deer population causes a decrease in the incidence of Lyme, the obvious solution is to get rid of the deer.
