If the counties were not so quick to jump and take children from the home without properly doing an assessment to see if services can be provided or a proper investigation to see if the children's removal is warranted they would not need to spend so much money on legal fees. A lot of children are removed over an accusation that is false and parents spend months and at least $10,000.00 to prove that they are innocent. Not only that but a lot of marriages end over this as the counties will put one parent against the other and tell them that if they get a divorce we will give you the child/ren. I also know of a few people who have lost their jobs because even though they were proven innocent and had their children returned they have this accusation out there in the system and they can no longer do their jobs they are licensed for because of it.

Counties need to think before accusing people period. Some times common sense should prevail instead of old school social work.
