“This particular case we don't have criminal negligence that we can prove. The owner had the dog confined to their property. You know, it was just an unfortunate set of events that occurred. But it does not meet the requirements of a felony offense”

They SHOULD face charges !!! just because they put the dog down should not get them off..PIT BULLS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED!!!

Why? Because it was defending it's home? I'd buy the dog a bone... with meat on it.

It clearly states that the dog was confined to it's own backyard. If the parent of this child were the owner they would have mentioned it, but obviously the child wasn't in her own backyard. The thing that people need to remember is that these dogs are highly loyal and extremely defensive of what they consider theirs.

They probably were drug dealers. The dog probably was wearing a log chain send em to jail and outlaw those dogs
