This will lead right back to Fletcher. Remember how Fletcher found the money Naylon and Rehak took during the FBI sting? Fletcher's sword will not be big enough to shut the FBI up on this one. Good luck Bob. Maybe Naylon or Rehak have room in their cell for you.

Legisl. auditor reports that they used $72 for doughnuts during a search warrant briefing. Police - please don't be cartoons!
The LA did not review every transaction, of course. Found that one of the bosses sold a TV to an affiliated person - but the TV did actually not belong to the MGSF to sell. What else did they "fence"? I hope that was an isolated incident.
Its good that they were able to track down the autos.

The Metro Gang Task Force isn't controlled by Sheriff Fletcher. In fact, the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office was tapped to investigate the matter before the FBI became involved, and they uncovered each of the "missing" cars. And they weren't parked in Fletcher's driveway.

Either Commissioner Campion’s over-site was so lax for so long that he had to call the FBI to straighten out his own mess …. or this is just a political stunt.

Either way, this mess is on Campion. He controls the Strike Force purse strings and has always had a designated representative on the over-site board.

If there was a longstanding problem why did the legislature receive such glowing reports every year like this one from just 2 months ago?:

http://archive.leg.state.mn.us/docs/2009/mand...

If there was a longstanding problem with the paperwork, why wait until it hits the press to address it? By not doing his over-site duty Campion just sets up good guys like Ron Ryan to fail.

A decent Commissioner would work with his employee, the Commander, to make sure expectations are defined and met ..... not ignore him for YEARS and then publicly attack him after he retired.

....and how can Campion know about "missing" cars (really missing paperwork) and not lift a finger to try and account for them?

This is a leadership problem and Campion is the leader.

The FBI's had an office in the Twin Cities since World War One. They are way ahead of the game.
Watch this go back to the State and Campion. The major reorganization he calls for needs to start in his office, not in the Cities, Counties or the Gang Strike Force.
Wonder how long before this thread disappears?

Minneapolis and St Paul Police are starting to show as some of the most corrupt around. Soon they will be right up there with Chicago's PD as worse than the criminals. They plant guns on people they murder, They kill and beat people in jails. Bad news...

Was Fletcher responsible for 9/11?

Did he set charges to demolish nearby buildings?

Is Bob still of the Chair of the Guantonamo Bay "Prolonged Detention" -(Obama's Term) facility in Cuba?

Much as he was not in charge of the GSTF, all you theorists out there need to take a deep breath.

One gang of thugs investigating another. Nothing will come of it. They'll find some way to cover it up.

Maybe the FBI should look at Sheriff Stanek and his evidence room and gun display.

The only mention of Sheriff Fletcher in this article is about how he stepped up to the plate and accounted for the cars (in a few hours he did what the Auditor was incapable of doing and Campion didn't even try).
What's with all the looney off-topic anti-Fletcher posts?

Is it any surprise that Minnesota is now among the country's top jailors?? Locking people up is a growth industry. It also serves a tidy political purpose in banning many from voting. No motor voter registration (TPaw.) No medical marijuana (TPaw and LEO again.) Mandatory seatbelts as a way to trump probable cause.(TPaw and LEO.)

Are we seeing a pattern yet? Welcome to the police state folks, led by your warm and fuzzy buddy Pawlenty.

Please. How tough is it to pay off a couple buddies that own a car graveyard and some vehicle donation program? "Oh yeah, the sheriff donated those to us YEARS ago." Wink wink. Get a clue. Cops are D-I-R-T-Y. Thugs with badges.

The commander of the unit at the time was Fletcher close Deputy, Ron Ryan.

The clerk was Bob Fletcher's wife, sister. With no experience she was the sole person in charge of tracking the cash and property.

The Sheriff's Office was the Fiscal Agent for the organization. Which mean yes, the management of the finances and property was their baby.

Its never Bob's fault, just ask Naylon and Rehak- when they get out of prison.
