Having clothing bins helps reduce the 8 billion pounds of used clothing that ends in landfills each year. From 1990 to 2003, clothing bin companies shipped 7 billion pounds of clothing and other textile products to customers in 100 countries. We have 40% of the world market for used clothing. It is a business that often gives a portion of its income to charities, but that practice varies from company to company.
