yesyes yes.. I am not the only one following all the failures. Escape, murder, inmate shot, inmate suicide,co's arson,co's fed prison for cocaine sales, missing 5 years old cold case now. Too many chiefs not enough indians. One more thing raises for my friends but screw the line officers

Looks like the Hackney guy isnít running. I just found a post on his facebook that says he will be let go from (unknown place) due to budget cuts and is looking for a cop job. Why not run? He says he will be out of a job anyway. He put this link on there too.
http://jhackney.webs.com/
I am not sure who stated somewhere on here that Hackney wasnít running; however, I just heard a presentation he did at Flagler College in reference to changing the structure at PCSO and I was beyond impressed! He knows too much for someone that isnít running.

I canít remember word for word, but he ran through the budget for PCSO and showed ways to provide every employee (none of the command staff) there with a $3,000 -$4,000 raise the day he would take office without asking for one extra cent from the commissioners. He also was talking about getting rid of many un-needed captains and admin positions.

There was a lot there, I wish I would have heard the entire thing. No, I donít work for Putnam and I do not live there (anymore). I came over to St Johnís (got out while I could)Ö all I know is that if I had the chance I would vote for Hackney!

Williams has lost two times in a row, by a wide majority, needs to give it up.
Williams has only lost because he can't be bought, he won't give up his integrity just to please a few also he has not been beaten by the better man. Williams is the only one qualified for the job. If people would get out and check out the candidates they would find out but Putnam County doesn't care. There is alot more I would like to say about him but will hold for now.

Tom Williams is a decent guy.He does not promise anything to anyone in this county. It is time for the citizens of Putnam County to wake up and quit letting the big guys control everything that goes on. Tom was a Metro-Dade County police officer for over 17 years before he moved to Putnam County to be closer to his mother. He has been an Officer(part time)with the Interlachen Police Dept. He is a very successful business owner (TMT Auto Clinic)since he relocated here in 1998. We need a new direction for our Sheriffs Dept. It's time we put a fresh new face in office. Not someone who will go in and fire everyone, like what happened the last election.Vote For Tom Williams....

Tom Williams is a business owner in Interlachen, was in law enforcement in Miami, does auxiliary for Interlachen, nice guy. He has run for Sheriff for the past two elections as the republican candidate.
Tom is an active community member, a devoted family man, a true conservative and a law and order lawman who believes in the United States Constitution and who believes in this great country. Putnam County would benefit from the virtues he espouses and from the fine example of a citizen he is the example of. Tom will do what it takes to improve relations between law enforcement and the community and to promote professionalism in the ranks. I encourage all to support him.

I wish Gary Bowling would run for Sheriff. He would get my vote. Word on the street is that he has the capability of solving the Haleigh Cummings case. I pray he decides to throw his hat in the ring and run!

Well if he does have he capability of solving this crime, what is he waiting for? I wouldn't vote for Bowling if he was the only candidate running. I say that from personal experience. He's worst than any other candidate running for office right now and some of them I don't know anything about that. I just know he's all about himself, not the other officers, citizens just himself.

Yeah that would be real good, considering he just, last night, totaled a second sheriff's office vehicle in a traffic crash and cant explain why he lost control and ran a stop sign. Not to mention the 2005 crash, he walked out of the hospital without being released to avoid blood being drawn. Back then the current command staff refused to take blood or urine to be tested as policy says. Interesting, what was he hiding?????. Lets see what happens on this current crash investigation!!

Qualifications for Office:
The Florida Constitution states, "There shall be elected by the electors of each county, for terms of four years, a sheriff." The only other reference to specific qualifications for the office of sheriff are in Article VI, Section 4 of the Constitution,
which states, "No person convicted of a felony, or adjudicated in this or other state to be mentally incompetent, shall be qualified to vote or hold office until restoration of civil rights or removal of disability."
He could run if he wanted,(he isn't going to) in Florida you can be sheriff even if you are not certified law enforcement... Jerry has a few applications in at a few more prestigious locations, Chief at Florida International University and Chief for Melbourne PD right now. "Sorry Jerry, I know you read these posts and I didn't want anyone thinking you were running when you aren't"
Good Luck Jerry you are an upstanding officer!!

still no one is making any suggestions on how to fix things. lot of generalities, no specifics. sounds like a lot of personality differences as apposed to job function. and "Oh My", anyone who gets elected sheriff quickly learns about who controls the budget, it's the county commissioners. Just imagine how much better things would be in this county if the sheriff had the money Joe Arpaio does. And by the way, the potiential litigation of opening a "tent city" in Florida makes it cost prohibitive, not to mention the manpower cost to operate it.(see above statement).
Its time for this county to have REAL solutions to Real problems. The citizens of Putnam County will have a chance next year to voice their opinion on the current sheriff. Untill then, I am sure the sheriff would welcome any logical, constructive suggestions you might have.
Because they know better than to try and speak to you!! Stay away from him very far away. Do not turn your back on him either you might find a knife in there

Owners and family of Beck Auto Dealer have given over $6000 to Hardy already. That's a good indicator of who will win.
