Hey WOWWIE I never said there was ANYTHING wrong with MEDICAL MARIJUANA, I said the problem lays with tons & tons of people getting a card who has ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with them except the urge to get HIGH. I said ANYONE with a real medical condition should be allowed to have ANYTHING they want or need. I can tell by your heated answer you are all for the smoke & probaly got a card for some reason such as a scratchy eyelid. Pull your head out & look around you, now there is HIGH SCHOOL kids who have SPORTS INJURIES trying to get a CARD. IF & ONLY IF a person has a REAL CONDITION should a card be given out. Lamar DOES NOT NEED ANY MORE POTHEADS, AIRHEADS OR DEALERS. Try going without your smoke awhile, catch up on the news & see the light. WOW WOW WOW

Wow if you manage to read the last two posts without getting smoke in your eyes read this one to, there has been over 120,000 people apply for a PUFF CARD in the last year in COLORADO, does that tell you anything. Has there been a serious increase in sick people in colo & or there just a bunch of POTHEADS wanting to try & avoid problems with the law in order to get high.

Wow old smokey 120000 ppl applied. How many ppl in CO do you think take prescription pain pills? I will bet you it is a lot more. Look its obvious that you believe in reefer madness, and there is no need to deny it you would just be lying to yourself and to us. What percentage of these 120000 do you believe benifit from MMJ?

Old smoke your a complete idot. They give high school kids percocet for pain which is a lot more addictive than pot. You must think its ok to get kids addicted as long as its a good legal drug and they are "really sick". Why don't you wake up and see the light. You'll have to open those blurry old eyes first.:)

Thank you, I believe you have MUSH between your ears to if you can't see the difference between seeing a doctor for a drug & seeing the doctor for entertainment. 95 percent of people getting a card is for entertainment only. If someone is really in need it is a wonderful thing. There is a big difference between a NEED & a WANT. Please rememeber if you smoke enough & for a long time all you have is MUSH

So mr smoke you know all 120,000 people who applied for a card. You have a medical degree that allows you to judge the medical conditions these people have. I bow to your great medical knowledge and wisdom o mighty one. For the mush between my ears knows when it has been beaten.

High school kids can't grow percoset in their basement, so that analogy is a FAIL. Who says pot is not addictive? Stoners. Another FAIL. LOL!

If a parent lets their kids grow pot in the basement that would be the parents negligence not the states. I have never seen any scientific studies that show pot is addictive. Have you? Well there was that movie called reefed madness it was very factual.

Here is a true story. I was sitting in my car at Mcdonalds Sunday when a bus rolled in & stopped. Now this was a greyhound but must have been headed for a hospital, cuz several of the people riding it, maybe in age from 19 to 30 jumped out grouped up, one fellow leaned down on his knees & pulled out a pack of zig-zags, another handed him a bag so he could twist one up. Now everyone PLEASE keep in mind they was NOT SMOKING POT, was right out in the open if front of god & all the people, THIS WAS MEDICINE, just happened to be lots of SICK ones on this bus. Yes we should certainly make it legal, although it is hard to explain to the grandkids.

They toke up in public because they can't go to the hospital. PMC has a "No Smoking" policy.

Legalize MJ while we're banning smoking. Ironic.

Medical pot is legal now but Lamar and prowers county will fight it for the next 15-20 years or so and by then all the old timers will be moving on to a better place the younger generation will have moved on looking for jobs and no one in this ghost town will care.
Medical marijuana shops and fort lyon have a lot in common I think. When fort lyon was first coming in no one wanted it and people fought against it now that its leaving people don't want all that money to leave the area. If you let a MJ shop in town it would be the same way hard part is getting it in.

how much can one person smoke, or is everyone in the county SICK & going to start puffing it up. If it is really used for medicinal purposes there is no way it is going to boost the old tired local economy. What it will do it start a bunch of problems

Explain to me how, you really can't be serious. You are trying to joke right???? First off why don't you or someone lay it out on paper how many millions a big pot shop will make for Lamar or Prowers county. Is every person here sick & needing to puff?? No way there is more than a few 20 or 30 people in the whole county who has a legitimate MEDICAL reason to puff. A crooked eyebrow does not count & this is supposed to be MEDICAL MARIJUANA & not entertainment smoking rights.Lay it out in black & white on paper with numbers & impress the entire county with the amount of money that will be rolling thru OUR HANDS. SHOW US

Forget millions how about enough to help the schools provided lunches for students or pay teachers. How many thousands do we need to make before we allow a legitimate business to come into town?

We are in such a bad way monetarily that we haven't been able to give city employees cost of living raises in years but a couple of months ago the city council voted to increase the cost of the city insurance plan by close to $100.

If we keep going this way we will be bankrupt.

Also you failed to list one problem it would bring in.

I agree about southeast colo having economy problems, but I fail to see how MMJ is our answer. I do not know anyone who has a REAL NEED for pot. I do know lots of people puff along though & most of them go thru life in a rum dum state & don't seem to care much about anything. As I said if there is a NEED for it & as a MEDICINE that is one thing, but to allow anyone to walk into a Doctor's office & the Doctor DOES NOT EVEN CHECK MEDICAL HISTORY & gives out a card, that is nothing more than entertainment purposes. I am back to the point of how is this going to generate so much money, are we going to try & get every person in the county to puff. Everyone come on down & buy some MEDICINE. We can legalize pot now & then the next generation can say pot is not enough so let's legalize the GOOD STUFF, like meth & crack. Where is ALL the money going to come from to buy ALL THIS MEDICINE, do you think it will fall out of the sky. Do you think a person can take this MEDICINE & drive??? Do you think taking this MEDICINE & going to work is ok to. If these poor sick people need this during the day, should all the co workers be sent home to be safe or have to work along someone who is HIGH. If a person runs over a child will ib be ok to cuz he MEDICINE had him goofy. Exactly how many truly sick people is there in Prowers county that NEEDS POT. What Lamar needs is JOBS & someone to work, not a bunch of people on unemployment, welfare & MEDICINE who won't work

How about convicted felons, do they get a card to cuz they had a tooth pulled once or have some kind of a problem. Do the taxpayer have to furnish it for them in jail???? It is MEDICINE. When & where do all these people take the MEDICINE??? Just kick back light up at home & puff in front of their kids, maybe go outside & smoke in front of the neighbors kids. Smoke on the streets so everyone can watch. DRIVE & SMOKE, at work on break. How many kids will be sneaking off with mom & dad's medicine & having puff parties??? How many home invasions do you think will be related to this in one way or another, either to get what is in the house or to steal to buy some. Petty theft will go wild in Lamar
