"Gay-rights advocates say the poll shows that Iowans are willing to extend civil unions to gay couples but hesitant to change the definition of traditional marriage."..........
I think they should ban gay marriage AND gay civil unions. Why should the good people have to change the real definition of marriage and extend benefits of spouses to gays? We should not reward people for being immoral and wrong and against God. It's sick. This whole country is going to crap, rewarding evil behavior whether it's by giving in to the homos or other such stuff.

Where in the Iowa Constitution or the United States Constitution is there a listing of what is "immoral and wrong and against God. It's sick."

Additionally, the fact that "this whole country is going to crap..." is quite a healthful phenomenon and should be applauded and encouraged. Entire corporations are based on providing the population with adequate fiber to aid the process.

As to "giving in to the homos..." I am presuming that was the consequence of your own proclivity for experimentation rather than an issue to be taken up by the rest of the population. If you give in to homosexual overtures as you indicate I am certainly willing to give you that right.

Does the name "skooternuts" have anything to do with the latent homosexuality to mentioned?

Oh yes, and also, I totally agree with you that we should not be "rewarding evil behavior". There is no way we should encourage or support elected officials who act to discriminate against any of our citizens regarding their civil rights.
All of us should be devoting our energies to making life fair and equal... and wonderful... for all.

4th paragraph: "to mentioned?" should have read "you mentioned?"

Because same sex spouses need the rights and protections that marriage brings, as do their entire families.

Why would you feel that denying gay people the right to EVER form legal kinship bonds is good for them, good for their children, and good for society in general, especially since allowing your neighbors to legally marry would not harm you, your family, or your marriage in any way?

Is is simply because you feel that, as a straight person, it's "icky" to be born a gay person?

If so, that's sad. Actively wishing harm to another person's spouse and family because you can't understand why they are as they are seems immoral and a bit unAmerican, doesn't it?

when i say 'give in to the homos', i mean give them all these benefits of marriage and equality they ask for. you may accuse me of being a fag if you wish, but it appears you all are the queers, defending the taking over of the world and the benefits of the good people and handing them over to the immoral people of the world. marriage is to be between man and woman. period. the benefits we get for being spouses is a reward for being so. we should not reward the immoral people and give their unions the same title and rewards. should we start calling the homosexuals heterosexuals? no, so why should we have to change the real/right definition of marriage. i did not say it was in the constitution. it is however in a great thing called the bible. pick one up. you want to make life fair and equal to all huh? fine. let's have some rapist/murderer have his way with your little daughter, then give him the fair and equalness of roaming the streets. forget about jail. that would make his life unequal to yours and mine. i don't wish harm to someones "family" by denying them the rewards that are supposed to be rewards for good people. what harm is done is to the children when gays decide to 'raise' them. keeping the rewards away from the gays does the opposite of harming others. it keeps the queers from harming the children, the definition of marriage, etc. you quit rewarding evil behavior, it will eventually stop. reward it over and over with more and more, it will continue.
