Oh Lord... We've got some real rocket scientists on the ticket this time. They require that all questions are submitted before the meeting. Wouldn't want leaders who can think on their feet, now would we? Anyone with enough sense to runs a county is way to smart to get into politics.

Probably to keep people from asking personal questions.

Could be, but a person has a right to turn down a personal question.

On matters of policy, a would-be commissioner should have a working knowledge of the task at hand, and a good enough grasp on the truth to formulate a response in real time. If they need to script the meeting ahead of time, what's the point of a public forum? It shows weakness and a lack of forward thinking.

Politicians of all stripes are merely seeking out a sweet job with power and perks. They are subject to human nature just like the rest of us, but lack of character leads them down the path of least resistance... the rest of us be damned.
