I don't know about Cedartown, but my child attended RMS last year. She said she was more distracted by students who were not forced to remove piercings. She said they would buy neon colored bandaids to cover them. It became more "cool" to have the bandaid than the piercing itself. To me, a large neon colored bandaid on the face is alot more destracting than the piercing itself. Under this dress code, are students going to actually be punished for piercings, or is this like the "revealing" clothing that teachers and administrators ignore?

Sounds like bunch of idiots who would want a band-aid on their face? I'd tell them that.

Quit the bitchin about the dress code. Parents who bitch about dress code are the main reason our kids fail. Get your crap straight. one kid with a mohawk makes a's and parents scream that the dress code isn't fair. So do this group the kids and tell me which group has the best grades.

Gives the board something to check off their list that they tried so they can feel good instead of hitting the problems head on like replacing them that can't lead.

I liked that shaw came in and talked to the kids - that needs to be standard at every school FIRST day every year - this is why you go to school, this is why you should appreciate a free education for all, and this is what you can expect from them and what they expect from the kids. We need an entire change in attitude all the way around incl Marvin

Not to mention all the money we spend on supplies. Then there's all of the fundraisers for the booster clubs, band, chorus, other extra curricular activities.

Then there's the money that parents have to come up with just so their kids can go on field trips....and if you don't have the money, your kid gets left behind.

Oh...and let's not forget the pizza parties on Fridays for those kids who did good all week long..........

Oh sure...let's worry about all these silly things...but let the cheerleaders bounce around in their uniforms on game day...some of which are very revealing for young girls...doesn't that fall under "No revealing clothing" oh , I forget...a cheerleader or a football player can get by with anything in Polk County...how silly of me to forget.

Lot of money spent on Cheerleaders. Perhaps those might want to pay their water and power bill first.Actually, it none of my damn business. Just voicing an opinion.
