As a matter of fact I was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff Department for DV. I called the cops when my wife pulled a gun on me and somehow I got arrested. There were broken things all around the house where she was hurling them at me. Anyone with a brain would realize that this implies distance between me and her. She told me later when we reconciled that deputies coaxed her into saying that I poked her with my finger to avoid the serious charges of pulling a gun and that she was scared. All I know is that I never in my life laid a hand on her (even poking) and I spent three days in jail. God, my soon to be ex-wife, her sister who she told also, and I know this. After everything was dropped, I had the added humiliation of paying $2500 to have my record expunged. Never mind that I had never been arrested before. I will never forgive the Polk County Sheriff Office for doing this to me. You are naive if you believe only the guilty are punished. I have the reality of my life. I served my country, went to college and a very productive member of the community. In my job, if I was Wii bowling on the clock, I'd be fired. All I know is that my fundamental belief in the system has been shattered. I know the truth, I have to live with the injustice and there is nothing I can do about it.
Every deputy that comes to the scene of a domestic disturbance that involves a couple(whether they are married or in co-habitation) should hear BOTH sides of the story and then make a lawful determination..Guess NOT here in Polk County????

Dude, I'm sure you know that when it comes down to a "he said, she said" DV case, everyone ALWAYS tends to believe the woman unless there is glaring evidence to the contrary. That's just a fact in this PC world we live in.

"There were broken things all around the house where she was hurling them at me. Anyone with a brain would realize that this implies distance between me and her" Sorry, but broken things all around the house implies nothing at all about distance between two people. Think about it.

"She told me later when we reconciled that deputies coaxed her into saying that I poked her with my finger to avoid the serious charges of pulling a gun and that she was scared." I'm sorry, but I'd have a hard time believing (much less reconciling with) someone that pulled a gun on me and falsely accused me of assault.

"All I know is that I never in my life laid a hand on her (even poking) and I spent three days in jail." If your wife insisted to the police that you were assaulting her, you would have spent time in jail IN ANY COUNTY IN AMERICA! Judd's fault? Or wife's?

"I had the added humiliation of paying $2500 to have my record expunged." Again, that would happen IN ANY COUNTY IN AMERICA! how is that Judd's fault?

If things happened as you say, I can certainly understand why you're pissed. But again, if this had happened in any other county in America, the outcome would have probably been the same. I think your anger at Judd is a little misdirected. Holding a lifelong grudge against the Sheriff's dept for them doing their job isn't ever going to make your life any more positive, that's for sure.

My main question still remains unanswered. Where's the evidence of Judd covering up something?

My point is, if Grady is trying to make a difference, try fixing what is broken. The Sheriff's Office did not do their job! They coaxed a pretty woman into lying because her daughter from a previous marriage was in the home and decided that arresting me would enable her daughter to be with her mom, my best guess. My brother is a HCSO and was shocked at the judgement and lack of professionalism. You can live in a fantasy world of thinking that this don't happen. If under "his watch" he allows the neandrethal thinking that a man is always guilty, then he is not training his deputies properly. I reconciled with my wife because I was in love with her, my bad!!! Judd is too focused on his political career instead of serving the community's best interest. It's about stats buddy. He can say he has made x numbers of DV arrests in a year. I will always be bitter because I know what his deputies did, ALWAYS! I know he his too busy getting his picture taken to give a shit.

It all comes down to this (and I personally have never been arrested by PCSO ), if you like Grady , you've never had to deal with his not so well trained , can't fill out paperwork to save their lives deputies , or had to listen to Judds , quite often repeated stories . Grady Judd might just have issues himself , he wants to live in Mayberry , why do you think he named his driveway "mayberry ln" , he think he's any Griffith ?
