Area legislators support mining study
A group of local state legislators support a plan by the Virginia Coal and Energy Commission to study the feasibility of uranium mining in the state.

It strikes me as ignorance to be for a study when the prerequisite should be to show any solid evidence that uranium mining has been done anywhere, even in a low population dense arid area much less an ecosystem like the east coast. We should not mince words to let this genie out of the bottle. The study is very likely to be another attempt to shoe horn something in by people with limited interest in the long term viability of the area or the state or the country. The big driver appears to be not local people with local interests but a Canadian holding company. Holding could possibly mean hiding. The good people of Canada have already seen what such interrest will do to their country and we have many hard learned lessons in our western states.
