On patrol McComb police go after crime in citywide sweeps

We probably have as much or more crime, scale to scale, as Jackson Law enforcement made a major strike on crime in McComb last week, backing up a pledged crackdown from City Hall earlier this month. via Enterprise-Journal

And im supposed to feel safer because there were 56 moving violation tickets written? What a joke,the bottom line for the sweep is $$$$...Am i the only one who thinks the new mayor may be the next Frank Melton?

I think you should be helping the Mayor, Police Dept, etc to clean your city whatever it takes. that your place of residence so make an effort. and its not but one Frank Melton and he can't be duplicated.

Yea well,seatbelt checkpoints arent gonna clean this city,sure theyll fund the police dept. and get them neat new taser guns and 10mm's,but they know where the crime really is and they know what it takes to stop it. Effort.Its much easier to sit on your ass at a roadblock and write citations than it is to chase a crackhead through Community Park or Algiers.You cant eat a jelly-donut at full-stride. Melton is no different than a common criminal,the end doesnt justify the means thats why his ass is locked-up. Patrol cars should "patrol",and thats the downside to roadblocks..while lining thier pockets w/ checkpoints the cops are neglecting the rest of the city they should be patrolling.

Yes it's sad these police are acting as cowboys and not really cleaning up the crime at the source.
