Read the article people. Gregory Blackburn is the inmate named in the article and from what it says he was done wrong. Requesting a cell change and being denied, then being found beaten severely is just crazy. To top it all off they refused medical assistance to him. An off duty trooper volunteered to take him to the hospital. I do not know this person but do hope he gets his day in court. Every single person involved and those who knew but didn't act should be prosecuted. If you can not provide the smallest measure of protection then what in the world would they be doing even holding a person.

Wow, absolutely amazing to read something so ignorant actually being posted by a real life hillbilly. Let me try just to check to see if anyone is home. Some people are arrested for very minor offenses and released the same day. Getting beaten to death because nobody is watching the inmates or just letting them fight to kill each other isn't exactly what civilized people do. That is the actions of criminals being put in charge of other criminals.

Good for him- i hope he is awarded a huge settlement..how barbaric, even for Pike county. no professionalism just bad attitudes. Once you become in the custody of the state/county it is your constitutional right to be protected regardless of your crime..and let's not mention that "failure to pay fines" is not a violent offense..again, I hope he wins his case!! If nothing more that to prove a point!!

You know like when you have a bunch of dogs in a cage fighting that is against the law.Now if you have a bunch of humans in a cage fighting,I guess that is OK.You have people on here saying it is ok for them to break the law,but the inmates are so bad for breaking the law.If they are going to have to hold them they should have single cells but these people that let this happen are no better than dog fighters out here letting dogs fight, only difference is they are using humans to do the fighting.

Advice form the churhc lady if Mr Blackburn wants a fair trial he better have it moved out of Pike co Ky. All the judges lawyers and jailers are in the same bed(if you get my drift) NOw isnt' that specail. The judges and lawyers are gonnaprotect one of their own.....

Everyone deserves a right to be protected. I have never been in jail; but I would think that the jail here is small enough that guards would have heard someone being assaulted. If they chose to ignore his requests then I would think that they do have responsiblity; but who is going to testify for this man?

I know that sometimes people can get callous; but if that is the case they need to find a new job.

If the man really got beaten by a cellmate, I'm sorry to hear that. That's bad.

All us drunks need to get a class action lawsuit against Rodney Scott for taking the good bologna off the menu. We used to get Kentucky Border bologna gravy for Sunday breakfast and he swithced to some cheap substitute to save a dime or two.

We work our butt off over at the farm to grow a big garden tomato to go with that bisquit and gravy and that cheap SOB switches out the good bologna. Cruel and inhuman treatment of prisoners and if it ain't against the Jeneva Convention it should be.

maybe he learned jail aint a fun place to be... chalk this up to a painful life lesson. keep your sorry butt of jail and you won't be in there to get beaten in the first place.

I got more important stuff to do then worry about criminals who get what they deserve, like non criminals that get hurt that didn't do anything to deserve the hurt theyre in.

Right, get your human rights violated and I would imagine you would be the first to scream. If we don't protect the rights of all then we risk losing our own.

I have never been in jail and don't plan on going there; but I sure as heck wouldn't want to have to worry about getting beat up if there.
