Advocates call for ending paddling in Kentucky schools

LEXINGTON - Some advocates for children are asking for 45 school districts in Kentucky to end the use of paddling as a punishment over concerns about excessive force and overuse on students with disabilities.

the paddle is so out dated. now we need armed guards and stun guns. might need to raise school taxes a bit but we need to get with the times. this is the first generation of drug head parents children. we already got the Bible out. we need to start on getting rid of any form of discipline. one armed guard per pupil. us start with that first. we don't need to bring in the military just yet.

Heaven forbid the kids are DISCIPLINED. Paddle them and they might grow up to be productive members of society. wouldn't want that. Instead make sure everyone is happy and feels good. then they can drop out of school do drugs whatever makes them happy!

I say lets do away with schools altogather. who needs education our doctors are educated and they keep prescripion pills to people who cant hold their eyes open while they are in the drs office. who needs education when our lawyers who are semi intelligent sue if someme gets a turd sideways forget schools lets all go to hell in a handbasket...

If they would start busting some of the parents instead of the children then alot of this mess wouldn't be going on. And if parents would start being parents then the children would be more afraid of the punishment at home then at school. I am not saying beat the hell out of them but start being a parent, start knowing where you kids are and who they are with instead of being content with your child out of your face and a straw up your nose. Parents today are raising a group of children that are not going to know how to function in society. There is nothing wrong with busting a child's rear end. It will not kill them but it just might keep them out of trouble. I really don't care if my child is always happy as long as they are alive and act like they have a brain cell...just saying...lol

I was raised in a ghetto in Michigan AND near Wheelwright (near Prestonsburg and Pike)- Upon my first year in high school I was shocked to known of 18 year old men getting paddled for breaking rules. In Michigan they had already sued and removed such punishment from the schools. Wow, what a difference in law!

I agree, lets get stun-guns, mustard-gas, whatever is non lethal and controls a student, as students are much worse these days. Paddling grown high school kids is out-dated and stupid!!
