You people who want "English Only" are paranoid, closed minded, ignoramouses. Get off of this rampage. The only people who are true natives to our "Americas"; North, South and Central, are the many different Native American tribes. The English language was imposed on them because of mind-set, racial, prejudice officials like yourselves from Pickens County. What are you chickens so afraid of? Continue teaching your children to be like yourselves. It's for that reason there are so many racial problems in our country. Educate yourselves and free your minds!! I am white. BIG WHOOPS!!! I am just one person in a world of many colors. AND SO ARE YOU! Did you know that German was almost going to be the ONLY recognized language of our United States of America during the first half of the twentieth century. STOP BEING RACIST! YOU CAN CHANGE! Pickens County, embrace the different cultures in our state, in our country. Don't do what we did to Native Americans; killed them off. Don't do what we did to Japanese Americans during WWII; put them in intern camps because WE were afraid of them. Don't do what we did to African Americans; force them to extreme hard labor and be treated like animals. Don't do what we did to other white immigrants from all over the world; call them green horns. WE MUST LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES!! Stop being AFRAID! Embrace new people. HELP them. Treat them with kindness. Treat them as you would want to be treated. I'm sure you all have your own religions, "God" helps those who help themselves". These migrant workers and citizens who do not speak English yet, or maybe not clearly, or maybe not at all, are all here to work and make a better life for themselves and their children in the future. Their lives are not easy either. If you've read up to here then I know you truly care about mankind, humanity and kindness. Open your hearts.

Visiting somewhere with a different language is one thing. But when you make a place your residence you need to learn to speak the language they speak.

I have resided here for over three years and know very little Tagalog and have no desire to learn. Fortunately, English is also widely spoken here. I just do not assosciate with those who not speak and understand basic English.

Basic English is required. I think most LEGAL immigrants want to have a very good understanding of and to be able to speak well in English. I do not believe that tax dollars should be spent to teach English to illegal aliens even if they attend public schools. Illegal aliens do not accept the fact they are ILLEGAL aliens.

If I illegally snuck into another country to earn money, I would think I could earn more if I spoke the language. If I illegally snuck into another country for the betterment of my anchor babies, I would want them to speak the language. But I wouldn't illegally sneak into another country.
