Alot may know this as 56 as well. For those taking the alternate 104 route, be vary careful, as that stretch is kind of curvy.

Actually, I looked on NBC4 and they have a photo. It appears to be by the walmart but not quite to the light. Could consider cutting through town on the main st exit and going right on court st. The light at the end of court is just a tad above the accident

This accident happened in front of the Budget Host Inn fka Knights Inn, Roosters & Burger King on 23S. Thank goodness no one was hurt. But these Fed Ex drivers driving this double trailers need to slow down. The other day when it was bad out, I had one of these double trailers passed me like I was sitting still on 23N. After he/she completed their pass, their second trailer was just a swaying. If they would have jack-knifed, they would have taken out my vehicle. So drivers beware, winter is here and we all need to SLOW DOWN!

I know FedEx and UPS feel they need to get the packages there yesterday, but I would rather get my package two days late than not at all. These tandom trucks fly down the road regardless of the weather and/or traffic conditions. And stay out of their way if a traffic light turns red because they are not stopping. I'm not saying ALL of the drivers are like this but a lot of them are because they are "PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS" and know what they are doing.

I'm glad no one was injured, especially an innocent driver.

Use some common sense - S L O W D O W N and get there in one piece.

Have you ever drove a big rig while pulling two trailers? Have you ever it black ice? Just as I thought. These driver's can not help it if the trailer's hit black ice when the tracker does not. Just because the tractor does not hit the ice, does not say that the trailer will not. It is just like when you are walking with some right next to you. You do not walk on a patch of ice and the person walk with does. That is the way it is with the big rig's. I just wish that people would stop saying that it is ALWAYS the person driving the big rig's. It is not. 90% of the time it is the little truck's or guy in the car that cause the truck to wreck. So just slow down and give the person in the tractor the right's that you give the guy in the car. Big truck driver rule. With out them one would or have a nice Christmas or anything.

BRINKS ARMOR TRUCKS,UPS, Fe-Ex and POSTAL drivers are so lazy.
They think they can park any where they want.
If you or I did what they do we would go to jail.

Now the weather was most certainty a factor here. But these truck do need to slow down. I saw a report last week that showed that Truck related fatalities are up 33% since the speed limit was raised for them. When their limit was 55 the trucks were doing 65 anyway. Now that they have a 65 mph. limit some of them are absolutely flying down the roads.

These vehicles have more mass then an average vehicle and take longer to change directions and stop. They need to be going slower. The statistics are showing this.

Sorry, stepping down off of my soapbox now.

If it werent for the truckers, then guess what you would get no supplies. They can send them to the dockyards, train stations, airports ect.... But you cant get them to the warehouse without the truck driver. Not all of them are bad drivers. I have seen a lot of cars and pickups cut truckers off they cant stop that 50k lb torpedo on a dime remember that.

Exactly why the trucks don't need to be speeding down the roads.

I think most people know about black ice but this was snow covered roads. But I have another question for you how would the trailer hit black ice and not the truck pulling the trailer, just curious?

I agree with you I know truck drivers who are very responsible about their job but like anything else there are some who are not and those are the ones everyone hears about on the news. Everyone needs to be more aware of what is going on around them cars and trucks alike.

Have you ever been almost run over by a big rig because traffic has slowed because of road conditions and the truck didn't? Have you ever been blinded because you had your windshield coated with ice and slush because a big rig went flying by instead of traveling with traffic? It's not ALWAYS the fault of the big rig driver but because trucks are on a schedule and have to be to their delivery by a certain time the drivers tend to have little regard for the safety of others. Just because their bigger than my car and just because their on a time clock doesn't give them sole ownership of the road.
By the way, my husband and sister are both drivers. My husband has been driving for 10 years, my sister for 16 years. Neither one has ever had an accident because they respect the weather and road conditions and the other traffic.

Passed this going North this morning. It was in front of the Cuco restaurant, and I'd guess based on the way people drive through there someone probably cut the guy off in a car and he had to swerve to avoid them.

For every bad semi driver there are 10 horrible car/truck drivers out there. This country seriously needs to look into tougher driving laws and exams before letting anyone out on the road.
