Probably a Columbus homicide victim. The city is just fine, nothing to see here.

It's not a rest stop it's some pavement and a trash can that is never emptied. There is nothing else there. Once or twice a week you'll see a semi parked there sleeping but that's it.

My prayers are with this lady and her family.
This is not a bad neighbor hood - the area is very quite - don't have alot of trouble in this area. It's just below the Pickaway/Franklin County line. The rest stop used to be a farm market years ago - it has been nothing but a spot on the side of the road that is paved - alot of truckers use it to stop if they need to. A little to close to home if you ask me.

It was a working rest area several years ago and was closed when the one by South Bloomfield was updated

I've only been there for 10 years and it hasn't been there since then. Thanks for the info.

Hmmm... wasn't a body of a woman found just a few weeks ago in the area of the gravel pit that's close to there? I wouldn't walk around in the daylight down there by myself.

Abandoned rest stop....this rest stop was not abandoned it was removed years back because of the activity taking place there....this is basically a pull off on the side of the road

I commute to Columbus every day and sometimes in the morning I look over and see an old beater car sitting there with sometimes one or two people in it...and for what? I instantly think what criminal activity are they engaging in over there? I, for one, would never stop at a little spot like this off the side of the road to rest when there is an actual rest stop that is patrolled by officers and patrolmen daily. I am not saying she was hanging out there because it sounds like her body was dumped. I hope that this girl didn't suffer, and if she did may she find comfort in being at peace now. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.

Truck Drivers park there. It is probably a prostitution thing.

@Elaine: sad isn't it? I've seen quite a few LEOs with Retired Deputy's attitude. I don't trust any of them. I stay on the right side of the law so that I don't have any reason to come in contact with them.

It's more deserted than dangerous in that area....and because it is deserted it makes it a perfect dumping ground and yes there were 2 bodies found in that area but in Franklin county, not quite to Pickaway county line

You know I drive by as well and think, man that's a shady area. Every time the thought creeps into my head that I bet there's been a body in those 5ft weeds at sometime or another. It's just so secluded and creepy in a way.

It used to be a State Rest Stop, but, was closed in the 1970's. The State still owns the land.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks that driving by! I just got this weird feeling that it was just a matter of time before something bad happened. They need to just let the weeds take over and have everyone go to the designated rest area, or better yet go to a gas station if you must since there will always be someone there....AKA witnesses!
