Can you say DOMESTIC benefits? Sure it can happen in a traditional/proper family, but is far less likely.

SOCIALIZED health-care at its finest.

If Franklin, Fairfield and Pickaway county governments were serious about saving tax payer's money they would demand restitution from these benefit cheaters. If these cheaters refused to pay, then they should be summarily fired.

The counties shouldn't have to pay $145,000 for an audit to learn this information.

Just shows how well our governments are ran on an ongoing basis.

Sure, we'll fix this for $145K, and will have the same issues in a few years because there aren't processes in place to control it.

This country has been built upon the backs of Democrats. The overlords (takers) have been and are republicans.

The Democrats try to help people too much, therefore making them too dependent.

It sure does look like the folks that ought to know what is going on just don't have a clue what to do. So, they have to hire someone with the ability to do what the commissioners should be doing themselves. Shameful but not surprising.

The article says..
"There's no indication of whether people with ineligible dependents knowingly thwarted the rules or simply didn't understand the qualifications."

""Generally, the employees here are honest, so I think it was probably inadvertent, forgetting to take somebody off," Franklin County Commissioner Marilyn Brown said."

I am not sure which is worse. A government worker that is too stupid to know the rules or crooked enough to break the rules.

Shouldnt a agency demand proof BEFORE allowing them to be put on the employees health care plan. THE DEATH OF COMMON SENSE. No agency should be paying for an audit.

Or Black?

Just goes to show the Franklin County commissioners cannot govern the county.
And the comment Marilyn Brown made "I think it was inadvertent forgetting to take someone off ". To me that was a BS excuse to help cover mismanagement of the county.
Could you imagine what would have happened if she had gone to Washington.
She cannot manage Franklin County just think what it would have had she been in Washington. These are type of politicans people of Frankiln County wanted in Washington.

Steady Eddie has begun shaking and it is affecting his thought process. It's the Dumocrats who want everyone to be subserviant to them so they can execute complete control. Understand this and you can signon as Smart Eddie!

Ah, tell these scofflaws to go work for Coleman and the city of Columbus - they'll pay benefits to anyone and with the taxpayer's dime.

I hate to break it to ya, but "domestic benefits" have the potential to cost far less than the "traditional / proper family" costs. It's obvious that you're referring to gays / lesbians when you talk about your disdain for domestic benefits. Most gay / lesbian couples never have children to cover.

Covering Wives / Husbands and 2-3 children is A LOT more expensive than covering ONE PARTNER of a non traditionally married couple. Just covering the tab for a single labor and delivery can cost more than covering one adult for 10 years.

oh and by the way... There are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS [if not millions] of Americans on our govt healthcare / govt benefit systems who deliberately refuse to legally divorce & remarry new spouses in order to keep their original benefits packages intact.

I think everyone knows that widow / widower who isn't getting remarried to their new partner because doing so would cancel out their social security and/or military benefits that they collect from their deceased spouses.

Scapegoating gay people who never had the ability to "work the system" and/or legally marry / divorce their partners to begin with doesn't correct this reality.

Do you think the govt will find this by doing an internal audit ?

Can you say fox guarding the hen house ?

Frankly, government employees will look the other way when it suits them.
