But Licking County's jobless rate is still .3 percent higher than all but one other county, so that is a deceptive statistic. We have a 10.2 percent unemployment rate here, and remember that number only counts people actually filing for unemployment; the vast number of people who are no longer qualified for unemployment, or who are very underemployed, is not counted here. If those numbers were added in, the number would be truly horrifying. I know. I am one of those numbers.

If the actual rate is higher and the Dispatch reported it, wouldn't that make the President and Democratic controlled Congress look bad? If you are looking to blame, I would point fingers at:

1. The Fed for keeping interest rates too low (creating a housing bubble)
2. People who lived beyond their means .... running up credit cards and taking out mortages they couldn't afford which drove consumer spending beyond what was sustainable.
3. Voters who consisently elect policians who promise them things and claim someone else will pay for them. I would throw the Iraq war and currently health care into this category.

You will never improve if you think all of your probelms are caused by someone else.
