Pamida Store To Close In Nex Lex

The city of New Lexington is closing a retail store and its 16 jobs. Pamida public relations spokeswoman Kerry Heinrich says its Perry County store is closing. via Whiznews.com

I hope that someone buys it and puts something that we need in New Lexington. Don't care what it is, as long as it creates jobs! This area is in real need of jobs.

Why doesn't this stupid town let a Wal-Mart come in? Don't they realize all the PC dollars going to Zanesville, Lancaster, Logan? We have to go to a larger communtiy and ultimately another county for shopping!

Hello Joe, as a citizen in this stupid town and a nosey person, Walmart is the one that chose not to come here bc they stated that all of the pc folk will come to us in neighboring towns/counties!

I heard from a city council member it was voted out by the city because they thought it would impact the businesses that already existed and at that time Pamida was one of them. It probably would put out Kroger's. But survival of the fittest I say. I would reckon Save-A-Lot would be okay. I live in NL I dunno why this continually says I live in Columbus.
