I like how people without vocal chords talk through the electrolarynx gadgets. Back in grade school, I had a schoolmate named Chad Wade, he had lost his voice and talks through electrolarynx.

I need to find out how to get this lady off the tv and all like her for that matter!! I have a 5 year old who sees these commercials and is scared to death. He has panic attacks and his heart races to the point of me being afraid for his health!! There has to be a ban put on these commercials and I will fight this however I have to to make sure that happens!!!

Here is a lady doing the live version of the CDC ad campaign.

Over a decade ago, the Health Department in King County, WA, had stationary tablets available with letterhead showing someone with a lit cigarette puffing smoke out through her stoma alongside the text, "Is Nicotine addictive? Just ask Debbie."

It will be a good day when there is no one left who can understand what that was all about.

An adult has the means chosing what children watch and that means is called a remote or on/off switch. We have just about worn our remote out muting Auto Advantage, Musinex and Charter commercials.

This assumes that the parents want to go that route and, frankly, watching some guy with a hole in his throat trying to shave around it or someone get up in the morning and put his legs on with no sound to explain it isn't all that comforting for a kid.

This gal goes around to schools and such and talks about the problem. The post about the commercials was a tangent, really. This program goes beyond having the images moving around on a screen to giving them life, reality, and personality. It is probably a good thing.

It's difficult to justify that typo. The "P" is a long ways from the "M".
