should read undercover operation nets nothing but a headline.you gotta be kidding me sheriff you needes an undercover operation to net a bunch of 14 yr olds for possesion of beer and a joint! yet you couldnt get a one of these kids to tell you which quik stop they got the beer from? hope that had nothing to do with you being a operator of so many quikstops?and for res complaining about drug dealers, these kids arent it,i dont think anyone of them owns a airplane or landing strip in the area, nor a boat, train,or freight truck co.,nor do they work for any state or federal drug enforcement angencies.the govt and public of this county provides absolutely nothing for these kids to do accept ride around and drink beer and smoke pot.i often see them being chased off public property such as or local parks and empty parking lots and even the public boulevard in front of the school.looks like our new multi millionaire sheriff is on the job..

obviously someone doesnt read very well.the drug arrest have been a little more than fourteen year old kids with a joint and beer. and as far as our knew multimillionaire sheriff he does'nt own any quickstops and hasnt for several years now. as far as it being nothing for the kids to do the prc board of supervisors are in control of the money that it would take to provide them with something to do. sounds like someone is condoning them to ride around and drink beer and smoke pot.usually the people that complain about drug arrests and agree with such illegal activities as underage drinking and smoking pot are providing them the beer and selling them the drugs. myself and most people are proud of our new milionaire sheriff because he cant be bought. keep up the good work sheriff and all your deputies and investigators.

Yeah really. Big deal! These aren't big "drug busts". What's new? This is what Picayune youth have always done as there is not much else to do there! I love Picayune, but give me a break- SSDD.

Yes it is a big. These teenagers will grow up hopefully one day if they live long enough. Then they are adults dealing drugs to your kids, grandkids and then your eyes may open up when they are laying on their death bed wounder where they got this stuff from and thinking if I only knew then I'll track these thugs down and take the law in my own hands. Or like someone else said maybe your their supplier and can't afford to loose a sale.

I have to agree to some of the previous posts, how can a beer and a joint be considered a major drug bust? And to Lewis and some of the others, ask yourself what should our priority be? To stop all these pill poppers taking Methadone, Oxycontin, Xanax, etc and DIEING every day, or those smoking marijuana, a plant that has killed 0 people - ever?

I won't even get into the fact that by prohibiting the distribution of marijuana we only proliferate the black market, one that wants to get your children hooked on the true "drugs" out there that can harm and kill them.

Well you can't say that marijuana hasn't ever killed people your're wrong people loaded from drugs or beer get in cars drive down the streets impaired causes wrecks and people minding their own business get hurt and killed and the dopers usually escape with minor injuries so you need to look at the whole picture. Drugs kill daily!

Drugs do kill daily, so does beer, show me one case where someone has caused an accident or otherwise due to smoking. Any will do.

Well I'm a former wrecker driver for years and I've seen people flicking a but out the window for it to only go in the back seat and the driver reaching over to retrive it only to rearend or go into on coming traffic causing accidents. But smoking is legal in most areas for adults where drugs isn't legal for anyone!

Im not here to point fingers at any paticular law enforcement person or agency, but these are some facts you can verify. Cocaine which is made from the coca plant that is grown in the mountains of peru, columbia, etc, this plant will not grow in the United States. Crack is made from cocaine, and cocaine and crack is an epidemic, nobody that reads this doesnt know people that have destroyed their lives with these highly addictive drugs. This is my question, the only drug dealer arrests you ever see are of small amounts of cocaine and maybe a couple thousand dollars, yet some people are importing cocaine in this country by the ton, and sold for billions of dollars, remember it cant be grown here. and to let you know how effective law enforcement is, 20 to 30 percent quality cocaine was sold in the early eighties for 150 dollars a gram, you can now buy 80 to 90 percent cocaine, in south mississippi for 40 dollars a gram, thirty years later, they are bringing so much in that they have to sell it very cheap, but i cant remember the last time someone was arrested for posession of hundereds of pounds of cocaine and millions of dollars in cash, but somebody is bringing it in, how else would all these addicts be able to obtain it?

Supply and demand, if someone looks hard enough you'll find it. These people bring this crap here and Posin our children and family members for the money and they don't care what happens to the people as long as they get paid. That's why drug dealers don't use their own product because they know it kills people on a daily basics. Say no to drugs and live the fullest life.

Pearl River County should watch Progress Road all the way to Silver Run, they would be surprised what they might find, but have to do it from 7 p.m. thru 5 a.m., lots of midnight riders lol.

Seems to me both County & City are taking out the trash, there has been many more drug arrest, and as for above topic, the new sheriff has a broad view that maybe some narrow minded people cant understand,If kids get arrested it is supposed to
have an impact on them so that they will not be put in the grave early or reside in MDOC.Open your blind eyes!!!!!

it's almost as though the 'citizens' of picayune view pharmaceutical overdoses as some sort of natural selection. prescription drugs are rampant in that town and the number of lives they are taking is astronomical. i think that law enforcement needs to stop patting themselves on the back for such trivial quests and do something about the real drug problems. honestly, check out the statistics and tell me what kills more people in pearl river county: beer & marijuana, or Xanax, Methodone & Oxycontin.

I don't think that pot is as bad as some might think. Every thing in moderation. It is put here for a reason, and to say it's bad for all people isn't right. I don't think that children should mess with it, They need to focus on school. I would rather be around smokers than drinkers. And it's not the pot that kill people, it's the crash, just like guns, It's the person that kills not the gun. But people like to be busy body's and get in other people's live's. Adult's should be able to choose for there self if they want to smoke pot. Jesus is my lord.

DON"T forget Bugalusa is the biggest DRUG STORE in four states. You can get anything you want there.....ESPECIALLY those doctor shoppers.

The problem is ----you guessed it---CORRUPTION.
The problem will never go away because they make to much money from it.
ALL the drugs from Pearl River County is comming from Bugalusa and Pearl river, LA...you can set up at the crossroads and that would get rid of over 80% of the problem. Most of the trafficer's cut down 43 or go through poplarville and hit the interstate. If you ever want to know anything always ask the source....seems most of them love to brag about how stupid the cops are and how they do it....and even have heard some brag about not ever doing time because they have family either at the court house or at the sheriffs department.....the thing is ....they LOVE to brag but have you ever known any criminals to be "Smart" what is sad is the have this information already and have done nothing
