Does anyone remember this? Does anyone have any idea of a motive? Does anyone have any information about this? Did anyone know the family or have any contact with them?

I was a 16 year old Paulding County High School student who had classes with the murdered sister Camille Ferguson.

I remember Camille. She was a friend of mine in high school, I was going through some old photos of us taken while we were in school this evening and then searched for her brother through the Georgia Dept. of Corrections offender search. Carmen is the name he went by when we were in school so it took a few minutes for me to locate, I forgot that Carmen is his middle name. I was never close to his family - I only remember that Camille was funny and a blast to hang out with - Carmen (Willis) was quiet and seemed to be somewhat of an outcast. I felt sorry for him in school, he was overweight at the time (he seems to be a much thinner person viewing his photo on the inmate site), quiet, and seemed to be a loner. I was always empathetic for less popular students who seemed withdrawn with few friends and always felt that Carmen fit that category. I do not recall Camille ever mentioning problems at home with Carmen, although I never felt that she was extremely close to him - which isn't uncommon. My brothers and I were in different crowds with different interest in high school, too, so I never considered it unusual. The odd thing about the story in the article - I understood that the youngest sibling was much younger than 13 when I knew Camille and when this happened. I never met Camille's parents or other family members - I only knew Camille and Carmen so I have had no contact with anyone in the family. As far as motive, can only speculate. I do not recall any information published with a statement from Carmen explaining what caused him to commit this act.

Buster did not go to church. Judy always wanted him to attend. Carmen was mad about Camille getting a car and he had his check book taken away because he always overdrawn on his account. Buster was a nice man, but he never worked on a church bus.

I was friends with Carmen and Camille. There family wasn't much different then most of us because back then folks didn't air their problems. I even spent time at their house and have a fuzzy memory of the kitchen and living room. In high school Carmen dressed up in a banana suit for a pep rally, and I always remember him studying his Bible. He was shy but sweet and smart. I remember the younger brother had broken one (possibly both) legs and watched Carmen come in from visiting family in South Georgia. His mother was making dinner when he came home. Rumors are only rumors but back then it was said Carmen was upset because his parents had bought Camille a car, but not him. I remember hearing that he used a different gun on every family member, and use the grease from his mothers dinner to set on fire the trailer. When he was questioned, the camera equipment quit working and he helped repair it. He gave a televised interview some years later and said he remembered doing it but didn't really know why. To this day I think about Carmen and wonder how someone who was kind and gentle stepped outside himself and. Did this. 285

I was in a position to hear this boys deposition. It has been a long time ago and I don't remember every word, but to the best of my memory:

My sister was given a new car (I believe) while in school (after graduation I think) and they gave me nothing. When mom took my check book away from me (she said I couldn't manage money) I got angry. I killed my dad first, shot him, then went to the living room and shot my mother. I went down the hall to my sisters room and saw she had taken a phone in the bathroom to hide. I tore out the phone line and told her I wouldn't hurt her and when she came out I killed her. I went to my brothers room, sat and talked to him a few minutes then shot him.
I tried to start the house on fire by lighting my mom's hair, but it would not burn so I left and bought some gasoline, came back home and really started the fire then.
Everyone thought I was at work, a deputy stopped me heading for the house and told me what had happened. I acted like I knew nothing about it.
This child must have had some real mental misfirings.

It was only when the fire was put out and the Coroner (Jeff Eberhart, RIP) noticed the gunshot wounds to all the victims that an investigation was conducted and it was discovered that Willis had committed this crime.
This is the short and sweet of it.

That was not how it happened. My Aunt Judy did get on to him, he shot her, my Uncle Buster was in the shower, Camille ran to the bathroom, Uncle Buster told Carmen to put the gun down and they would talk about it, Carmen said OK Daddy, open the door - when he did Carmen shot them until they stopped screaming. Kyle had a cut foot and was in bed unable to get up. Carmen sat on the side of the bed talking about what a good time they had had at our Granny's over Easter and when Kyle asked what was going on Carmen killed him. He set my aunt on fire first with either gasoline or diesel I can't remember now, one wouldn't burn so he got the other. Then he set the rest of the house on fire. He left in his truck, cut the fan belt, let the air out of a tire and called Camille's boyfriend saying he was having truck trouble and couldn't get a hold of anyone - by this time the fire had already been reported - Carmen spent the night at Camille's boyfriends house. He confessed to our grandfather the next day. We were all close growing up, my brother, him, Camille and I were the oldest grandchildren. The last words I said to Camille was I love you and will see you at Granny's this summer cause I didn't go home for Easter that year and she called me to get on to me. Everyday of my life I think about her and miss her terribly, everything I do I think Camille didn't have a chance to do this. Poor Kyle didn't even have a chance to live - he had just turned 13.
Carmen is a sick sick person and as far as I'm concerned the world would be a better place without him and I hate that cause he is my cousin but he took 4 members of my family from me.
