I cant help but wonder if he was set up like a reverse sting that was unknown to him or maybe its not what it seems like.
His son graduated with honors recently at LA.
I know he was a const worker and was off working for long periods of time to provide for his family. Sad , he didnt move his family with him and leave this god forsaken hell hole made up of publicity seekers.

LIVINGSTON -- For selling illegal drugs near a school, a Livingston man could get 12 to 20 years in prison and be required to serve every day of the minimum sentence.

Christopher I. Thrasher, 49, of Zachary Street, Livingston, was indicted earlier this year by the Overton County grand jury and was found guilty this week after a two-day trial in Criminal Court.

He is to be sentenced Aug. 15.

Prosecutors said Thrasher sold Oxycodone to an undercover agent working with police last July at his residence, which is within 1,000 feet of A.H. Roberts Elementary School.

In addition to violating the law by selling controlled substances, Thrasher also violated the state's Drug Free School Zone law by doing so near a public school, according to the indictment.

That Drug Free School Zone law allows the enhancement of penalties in such cases, requiring that anyone convicted of the offense must serve at least the minimum prison time and do so "day for day," that is, at 100 percent, District Attorney Randy York said.

DA York has stressed the use of the Drug Free School Zone law in prosecutions of drug cases here, and his effort back in 2008 to compile official maps of all school zones in this judicial district streamlined that effort.

The case against Christopher I. Thrasher was investigated by Livingston Police Chief Greg Etheredge, Detectives Brian Franklin, Jacob Boswell, Gary Ledbetter, and others. Assistant District Attorney Owen Burnett took the case to trial.

Thrasher, who was represented in court by attorneys Kelly Williams and Chasity Hancock, took the stand in his own defense and denied that he sold drugs to the police informant.

The jury deliberated for just over an hour before finding him guilty, court observers said.

DA York said he is pleased with the verdict and with the "hard work of the Livingston Police Department, the Overton County Sheriff's Department, and my assistants."

"We are continuing our fight against illegal drugs in this judicial district," the DA said.

Not being a bad person does't make it OK, Report all these other people instead of feeling sorry for someone that has done this for years and just now going to get a little time.

It'a about time some of these dealers get busted! Some have been doing it for over 20 years and in my book if your selling drugs then you are a bad person. Just my thoughts. We all don't think alike. If you do the crime you Should have to do the Time. Now if they will get more of the dealers that would be great.

I'm glad to see the conviction and a sentence. My only question is why wasn't Doug Clark sent to prison he sold in a school zone. I guess it all has to do with how much $$$$$ you have and who's your family.

So your saying that your kids will Never do drugs because you educate them about drugs?? Really is that what your saying?? You would be singing a different tune if someone sold your kids drugs and they became an addict or died from them. Would you be saying oh but that drug dealer is a good guy?? I know kids that were educated about them but that didn't stop them. You should try living in the real world.

Do you actually think that every parent raises their child to be a drug dealer or a drug addict? Parents need to keep close contact with their children and know where they are at and who they are with. As for Christopher Thrasher anyone could drive down the street and know something was not right at that house. Too much traffic and What about now his wife or girlfriend Kim?? Does she deal also? You can not tell me she did not have a clue what was going on in that house!!!

You say he isn't a bad person and he was convicted for the sale of drugs. What kind of person is he? someone you would want your kids around? Maybe even let him watch them for you?? Just wondering what you think a bad person is. I suppose that if he had sold your kids drugs you would be saying oh well don't charge him because he's not a bad person is that right?

People would be surprised to find out everyone who sells drugs! One sorry woman had their brother selling for them so he'd be the one to take the fall if caught. He was on drugs so she gave him drugs and money to sell her husbands meds for her, but she has to live with the fact that he overdosed and she contributed to that. Funny thing is that doctors acuses her of selling them and the hospice nurses always noticed some missing but nothing was ever done to the woman! My point is that just because someones name makes the paper does not make them any worse character than the ones who are never caught!

Since when does making a mistake automatically make you a bad person???

Also, My kids dont hang around with adults. Just family. I talk to my kids regularly. My kids are open and honest with me. they confide in me, We have a close bond. They have seen what drugs can do with family members. I am a parent. I keep tabs on my kids. They know what is and is not acceptable. I set standards for them. They follow them.

And if he sold them drugs, that would be just as much my fault for allowing it to happen as his. And my kids as well for buying them. Bad choices in life does not make bad people.

I am sure you have never broken the law?

Never sped, never talk/text on phone when driving. That is just as bad as selling drugs, because you could kill someone who is perfectly innocent.

Look at yourself before you talk badly of others.

I am not saying I am perfect because I am not, no HUMAN is.
