i was one of his dispatchers for almost 4 years. He was a good man, a good trooper and leaves behind a wife and kids. It is a sad day for many. My prayers go out to all affected by this tragedy.

AMEN...and show no respect, compassion, and empathy for the family members, friends, and coworkers left behind dealing with a death by making callous, insensitive remarks.

Death is not the time to make lite of, what matters now is the family.
Our prayers go out to them for the lose of a husband, a father, a son and a friend. Those that have to live with the lose are the ones that need our thoughts and prayers.

While you were sleeping cozy in your bed, Trooper Haynes was out doing his job for you. He was heading to a crash that involved tractor trailers blocking I-26 at night and in the rain most likely. He was trying, no doubt, to get there quickly to keep some unsuspecting, sleepy or otherwise not paying attention driver, from running into the wrecked trucks. He was doing his job for the citizens of this state! That is why he gets headlines, and deserves it! God Bless Trooper Haynes, his family and all the other Troopers out there.

Probably because it involves someone who works in public service.

we had a trooper die in the line of duty a few months ago? So sad that we are losing so many of our good men!

I completely agree. Anyone who is out there protecting us should be mentioned, especailly if they die in the process of trying to help the citizens they serve.

Haynes and I went through patrol basic together, and hoped to be stationed together, which did not happen. We still kept in touch, and he remains a close friend and comrade who always had a kind word and a smile on his face, no matter the situation. I saw him last when we were assigned together at a USC football game. That is now a treasured memory I will recall every football season.
Miss you already, bro. Godspeed ...

Almost always when a civilian dies in an accident it is mentioned that they were or were not wearing seat belts. Wonder why it is omitted here?
My utmost respect to the family and to the entire law enforcement community.

Lets all keep his family is our prayers. It's a sad day when anyone passes away, but especially when a fellow LE officer dies in the line of duty. God be with your family ...
