Are you talking about Ben Milam Rd.? Have a friend in Palestine and they did have some wind damage, newspaper closed, loss of some electricity. But not too much damage. Some as Cat 1 would expect that. All schools are fine to her knowledge.

Good now lets Texas pick itself up by its bootstraps and not ask for any government assistance.

They closed many places down before Ike hit there. Some churches had refugees staying there. So not sure if that is why they were not having church or what. Some churches did have services today. No major problems there. They are lucky.

I haven't seen anything about Vidor on the limited news I've received. Has there been much damage to the schools, etc?

No need. we actually have jobs and take responsibility for out actions. What do you think this is, a chocolate city? Texas is the state that takes in all of the other losers without asking for anything in return. No texans running to oklahoma...

Anyone have word of Huffman, Texas? My man went to help take care of his mother and grandmother, but I know he has not returned to his job, cause there would be no damn way for him to know if his work, was with power either. He texted me, soon as he could, which was Monday and again Tuesday, but nothing since.:(

And near Brownsville, as well? My dad lives in a city outside Brownsville that I CAN not spell, much less say.
My dad is there, with that thing he married.

Power restored there, yet?
