“The existence of these checkpoints is very much putting fear in the hearts of(ILLEGAL ALIEN) workers, and spawns rumors that may or may not be true that have the cumulative impact of affecting (ILLEGAL ALIEN)people here that are helping keep the economy going,” said Erik Nicholson, Pacific Northwest director of the United Farm Workers of America.

I took the liberty of making some minor errors to make the statement factual.

Let the fear continue. This type fear is a good fear!!

Gee, why would it hurt the farmers? This only scares illegal aliens, not green card workers. The farmers always follow employment laws. Right?

I would think so. I can't imagine them breaking a federal law.

Plenty of workers. The cheap farmers just need to pay more and they will find plenty of labor. Just look down at the local unemployment office.

I sick of the "oh, whoa is me" farmer exploiting foreign nations for cheap labor. These farmers need to go to JAIL and have their farms sold at auction.
