Thank you for that. I am proud of him. He just wishes that he could have done more. We don't know who the man was. But if anyone does, we offer condolences to the family. I myself am guilty of listening to rumors and believing them. I am by no means perfect. I am trying to rectify that and only go with facts. it is not always easy. I am human. Just wish we could all work with each other and not against each other. Maybe one day. :)

Thank you Lynn for clearing that up. And thank you Tyler for helping, i know it gave that family comfort knowing everything was being done to help that poor man.

So, will apologies be forthcoming? Will that stop the anti-Mike posts? I'm taking bets.

I have heard different stories from different people re this situation. Thank you to anyone who aids someone in distress. Thank you to Tyler for his assistance. Take this one away and that still leavers a melody of other situations that are hidden from the public. Remaining is the huge problem with this administration. It is time for change

I am not above saying i could have been wrong and as I told Mrs.Nelms, I was not there on the scene. I was going on what people from different department's are saying. The only thing that puzzled me was why Sheriff Mike told someone he agreed with the decision. So we move on. No, there are no apologie's BoHawg, we are all human and take thing's we hear to heart many time's. If you are exempt from this this you are a one of a kind. The post's concerning Sheriff Mike will go on and as you may or may not know, there is alway's a lot of truth to a lot of them. Some just do not want to know.

. Will gladly miss that event. But make sure you tell all those folks that just want a free biscuit and no yard signs hello, ya hear?

Don't tell me the LaCount crowd are that low. How low can they go?

The Lacount crowd are high on excitement and good feeling's of running a decent campaign and gaining more support daily. You see when you do the right thing, it pay's off. Biscuits nor money nor sign's can win this race but a good man can.

BoHawg just what from Bud's statement make's you say the Lacount crowd are low? He will miss the event because he is a Lacount supporter. It is just common sense that people do attend event's to get anything free. Do you think the Smith crowd are low over some of the statement's and wording that other's from his camp have posted? In a lot of your past post's you were not speaking with this tone.

I said I would gladly MISS that event because I am a Lacount supporter. The Lacount campaign is decent and not like the smith consign which IS lowdown You will have people (a lot if them) that could care less about voting but will eat a free biscuit. Looks like that was pretty straightforward.

Would someone give me a report on the breakfast this morning? I had to go down to Washington and didn't get to go. I still need two yard signs.

Some reason I think your post BoHawg is a trick post. But from what I heard it was not all they had hoped for. A few long face's at the end of the morning. Some of Sheriff Mike's former supporter's not on the scene.

Why would you miss something that was so important to you. It's ok though. I heard they had plenty of signs and BISCUITS left over.

Well, in that case, I still need two yard signs and two fatback biscuits.

I got word this morning that Sheriff Mike was very disappointed in the turnout of his breakfast on Saturday morning. People does this not tell you something? That people are ready for a change. Sheriff Mike may very well have been ok in his day, maybe even better before he became sheriff when he did not have the responsibilty and stress on himself. We need a Sheriff that can handle all that come's with this high stress job. There is no room for slack. That is when bad thing's happen. We the people of this county should not have to be the one's to lose. We work hard, pay our taxes and expect more, not less. Put aside the favor's and the fact you knew his daddy, went to school with Sheriff Mike and think seriously about this. There are so many drug's in this county, there is so much stealing, people killing in other place's and coming here to our home county and dumping dead bodie's. This has got to stop. Put a Sheriff in office that can put some fear into the drug king's the robber's and the one's who murder in cold blood. You will see a difference. We are still a rural county but the peace of it has gone out of it. And some of you ask why ?

I have sit here and read the different post being made about Mike Smith and i cannot sit here any longer without saying something. I work at the jail, some of you may say it is not very professional of me to get on here but hey i don't consider myself a professional. I went to school to be a jailer, i have been peppered sprayed and tazed, but to be a professional in my opinion it takes years of experience. Which i am working on. Mike Smith has been a wonderful Sheriff and supervisor, he DOES have an open door policy, there is a chain of command which you have to go through but if you are not satisfied with the result all you have to say is i would like to speak to the Sheriff and you (supervisor) are welcome to come along. When you speak to the Sheriff he may not always agree with you and if he doesn't he will explain to you why his decision was as it was, and ALWAYS his decision is ALWAYS for the best of Oglethorpe County and its citizens. Buddy there is not a Sheriff the in the whole world that can control drugs, burglaries, or murders, it cannot be done. Drugs are running rampart in every county, just ask. The reason bodies are being dumped in this county is because of the vast expansion of wooded areas. How could anyone stop this? I am sure our Sheriff was disappointed in the outcome of his breakfast, he would have liked for every citizen in the county to have been there. Even if they didn't vote for him because he loves them all, he cares about their well being, and he would have loved to hear what any of them had to say. The peace in this county is not gone Buddy, this county is no different than any other, I am sure Kelly LaCount is a good decent man, and would make an excellent Sheriff, i have nothing bad to say about him. All i am saying is the Sheriff we have now does not deserve the talk he is getting. No one can solve every burglary, no one can get the drugs out of the county and no one can prevent a murder. I wish they could, we would all have a perfect place to live. I will not answer any questions you may have about the Sheriffs Department, it is not my job, i may not answer them right. Or i may say something that may still be under investigation, so don't ask me. I would just like for all this negative talk about a man that loves his county and all the people in it to stop. Mike Smith is a good decent intelligent man, and he does not deserve what ya'll are dishing out to him. Good Luck to both candidates in the up coming election, and GOD Bless every citizen in our lovely county.

Spot On Ranger. Janice you are entitled to your opinion just as everyone else is. You like Sheriff Mike, you work for him. You say Kelly is a good man, you might want a job with him. If the thing's being said about Sheriff Mike were not true it would be one thing. I think most people know it is impossible to correct all the crime but what I said is we need a Sheriff that more of the criminal's fear. It would cut down some of the crime. I hear school age kid's, the very one's that will be the future of our county sooner than not make remark's about there being nobody to fear Sheriff Mike and a lot of his Deputies. These kid's need someone that they know will get after them if they do wrong now and as adult's. Sheriff Mike is Feeling The Heat and I am sure those of you that work for him feel sorry for him, it's natural. But feeling sorry for someone and them not getting the job done is not something a whole lot of people in this county are wanting to sacrifice any longer.
