Didn't Borasky vote to eliminate the 9.5 mile limit for a prison and then vote to allow them to build here? It was real sneaky how they did it. It should have been put on a ballot.

If my memory is correct Borasky argued against doing away with the 9.5 mile separation arguing that then there would be NO distance specified. He ultimately voted to do it with the rest of them.

Nothing sneaky about it. It was done in a public forum, I was there speaking against it...were you ?

Why didn't they put the prison question on a ballot and let the public vote on it? They also could have built the prison at the intersection of 95 and 160. That at least would have kept it away from a populated area. Nye County could still get the jobs, but the peoperty value wouldn't be affected.

The prison will not decrease home values, It is being built next to the town dump. Not a lot of developers or individuals wanting to live in that are.

Group who are against has cost count considerable money with their poitles law suites.

That would have put it outside the limits specified by the Feds. It should have gone down south near the county line but the guy who owned that land decided he wanted to develop it. LOL wonder how he feels now, or did Focus group have something to do with that decision ?

I'm not voting for anyone who was responsible for bringing in the prison. Just wait for Joshua's Town to be built. Then watch Pahrump turn into a ghost town.

According to Channel 41's interview it's going just above the prison.

6,400 acres outside of town. I though it was down by the Bordellos.

The man said Joshua's Town will be near the prison jjohn. It will be a town within itself caring for 30,000 homeless. And I thought the prison would suck up all our water!!!

I guess any further housing developments will be out then. Where the &*&& do they think all the water will come from ?

Looking at the backup the boundaries would be Irene st to the south, Home farm rd to the north, Clark county line to the east and ? to the west. Yep up by the prison.

As far as who would be better, I feel strongly both ways. I always wondered how they could make the zoning ordinances so business unfriendly, then spend thousands trying to attract new business. The Bible tells us, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is to open a hot dog stand in Pahrump Nevada. As far as why was CCA able to build where they did? There had to be a pay-off, nothing else makes sense. Maybe Borasky should go.

Are you kidding me? They are going to dump 600 homeless in Pahrump? From reading one the stories I just found in the PVT, seems good old Bill "I moved to Pahrump to screw it up" Kohbarger is in favor of this. Is he nuts or what?

We should thank Butch Borasky for the prison. Now the Nye county politicians can do their time close to home.
