What was the reason for making it a two-story facility? Construction and operations costs, safety considerations, and ease of personnel/resident inter-facility movement would seem to find a single story facility much more appropriate. In the case of a fire or other emergency, multiple floors exacerbate evacuation and security procedures two-fold with situations involving “memory-challenged” residents…….just asking.

You get more square footage on less acreage, it's always about dollars.

Come on! Not one professionally managed assisted living facility in this small town and when somebody brings a state-of-the-art project to the small town of Pahrump to fulfill a significant need, the only thing you can come up with is "why is it two stories"?? How about "thank you very much for developing an amenity for Pahrump at great risk and expense"? I couldn't be happier! I can't wait to put my mother in this facility because the existing facilities in Pahrump are flea bags!

I don't see you complaining about multi-story hospitals.

First off, its not needed, second off, there is NO REASON for it to be two stories. This is just another way we are being over run by Californians.

Quite frankly, I wasn't complaining at all, just pointing out common-sense and asking a simple question.(note the "...just asking" at the end?) Over a period of decades while transporting elderly patients in and out of medical residences such as this, I realized single-story facilities were far easier "to get into, to operate/administer, and get out of" than multi-storied buildings. That's all. Don't read something into this comment that doesn't exist.

As to need? YOU BET there is a need. I am sure it will be an important and popular addition to our health-care system infrastructure here in town. Best wishes to you and your family under obviously trying times.

"Common Sense" uses a typical tactic that pro growthers use. Make fun of someone voicing a concern and attack them instead of dealing with the insane growth they want in this town.
