I'll post later if he gets back to me.

This is Sad-Easton has a very good point all this bickering about one person accomplishes nothing. We should be focusing on the welfare of these animals. If you stop donating because of a human you are hurting the animals not the people. Point of the matter is Taxes weren't paid someone will have to be held accountable and the problem should be resolved, but don't let the animals suffer because of human's neglect. Don't you think they had enough neglect in their lives already

This is a **** shame. Barbara Loch has done an incredible job in incredibly stressful circumstances.
It sounds as if the current board is dysfunctional, to be polite. As far as the unpaid taxes, where the hell was the board treasurer in all of this? In any non-profit I've been involved with, the treasurer bore the responsibility of filing taxes. Even if that wasn't the arrangement here, the treasurer should have caught the mistake the first year, if he was doing his duty.
Actually, Craig Haytmanek was Treasurer. He was, and still is responsible for those taxes.

I agree with MatzoMan...where WAS the treasurer concerning the taxes. This entire thing is so sad.
I wish Barb the best. I also think that this Haytmanek character has a strange vibe about him. There seems to be
problems whenever he is involved. Hmmmmm
Haytmanek is ultimately the one responsible for the taxes. He was treasurer back then. He should do the honorable thing and off himself from our organization.

Craig Haytmanek has created this situation on purpose because he thrives on the drama. He has to have it. Without it his life is boring and meaningless. It is a sickness and he doesn't care what damage it does as long as he gets the drama he needs.... it happens everywhere he goes.

I don't know the people involved here but I know the shelter has done alot of good for alot of animals who need homes and it's nice to see a no kill shelter. These animals didn't ask for their situation ignorant people put them there. Sounds like certain individuals are destroying this place where animals find some sanctuary until they find their forever home due to their own greed and selfishness. Shame on you why are you in a animal shelter if you aren't looking out for the welfare of the animals.

Good for you. I'd hate to see this shelter fall or worse yet become a kill shelter because of all this....

Okay, so you need a group of people with a plan to get this guys off the board. Where will your first group meeting be and what is the plan?

This Saturday. Bethlehem Library from 3-5 p.m. Ground level if I remember correctly. Doors open at 2:30. Remember: THIS IS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. Please show support for getting the Board removed.

I will be there. I am new to this and not to be stupid...but is it really possible
to do this? Remove people from the Board? I'm serious. I really have never
been this angry about something...to do something about it.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE! THE TAXES WERE NOT PAID IN '05,06,&'07. I DON'T THINK THE DR. WAS EVEN ON THE BOARD ON '05 & '06. I could be wrong, but this may have started before he even was appointed to the board.
What I do not understand is that the Executive director was NOT fired she was just releived of the financial pressures so she could devote her time to the animals. What is the problem here?

Okay, you have a place. what about the plan?
Picketing, petitions, press, find a lawyer to donate his/her time? Can you shame this guy off the board? Can you use the courts to get him off the board? Can you use the membership to null the changes to the bylaws? Class action lawsuit? Have any laws been broken by the board? Can the DA help? Who else has ideas? Let hear them.

Public outcry and bad press are very powerful mediums. Anything is possible. We could feasibly drive this menace out of our lives for good -- and this is key. If Haytmanek stays lives will be lost, this I can guarantee. We need your support.

I do not know if the DA has grounds for involvement. I will ask and find out. I have several inquiries to a few local attorneys for help -- certainly we can find ONE to help. This is a big deal.

Actually, you cite years in which Haytmanek was treasurer. Thanks for allowing me to clear that up. And please, do your homework.

This blog really is sad to read, it sounds like a bunch of people who are just jumping on the band wagon in the charade of caring, I for one am involved with the shelter. The shelter is a great place, and it has much potential. There are many dedicated hard working people who donate their time, money and products, ect..The shelter director has done many great things for the animals, but she was very lax in management, and the fiscal affairs of our non profit organization. She spent a vast majority of her time in the spay/nueter clinic thus all the other areas suffered. People were allowed to loath off on the job, the volunteers were forced to pick up the slack or the animals would have suffered. I'M SAD THIS NEW LEADERSHIP WAS NOT GIVEN A CHANCE! I feel the shelter will cary on new people and management. I'ts nice to learn we have some money, but i must ask myself why were things left unfixed for so long, there was no process in place.Part of the problem Barb spent all her time in the clinic, not a directors job (maybe she should become a vet tech). Now she and Dr Milot can open up a new clinic, once again Barb will be doing a vet tech job.She never was director material,
always an animal care giver. So you want to know why things failed ? Barb
has ideas, no one else can have input. It is best she is on her own, she is very difficult to get along with, friends one day, next day your mud under her feet. The center will do well under new direction, and i will be there to see the light at the end of this dark tunnel. It's ashame that there are small minded people-we are here to care for the animal, and find forever homes for them. Just to let you all know board members resigned because many i believe felt Barb was not going to be a team player, and look, they we correct. Why would everyone go to the newspaper with this sob story. There is 2 sides to every story. The board handled this situation with dignity, unlike Barb, she got Robin, her partner to get the lynch mob-Robin and Barb did not need to say anything at the meeting their mob did all the yelling. Robin had meetings with the shelter staff saying the board will crack under the pressure. The press will work for them. Just remember there is two sides to every story-I know what goes on there. How many people do you that in some capacity worked for the shelter and left because of Barb-many,
endless years of people scared away, so sad. Good luck, Barb. Monroe county
he she comes!
