While the teachers are on strike the community should refuse to serve them. If you work in the service and/or retail areas around the community, please refuse to serve any Saucon Valley teacher. If you ring a register, refuse to ring out a Saucon Valley teacher. If you work as a waiter/waitress refuse to serve a Saucon Valley teacher. If you are a mechanic, refuse to work on a Saucon Valley teacherís vehicle. If you provide a service of any kind, refuse all Saucon Valley teachers. You get the idea.

I am hopeful that someone will come up with a way to replace this narcissistic, hubristic, greedy bunch of union thuggish teachers. This is the second time in two years they find it just fine to hold my children hostage in an effort to extort more money from me.

In response to anonymous in New Jersey, think about how disrespectful you are when you drive home in your Lexus SUV to your Millon dollar house tonight. Maybe those teachers will be there tommorrow to babysit your rotten kids.

too bad the strike can only last 15 days or so. Teachers are only doing this to irritate parents and students so they rally behind teachers and force schoolboard to give in to their horiffic unjustified immoral demands. Students need to realize they are in a system that has nothing but problems stacked against their future. Strong changes are needed $$$$$$$$$$ special interests will decimate their lives. Take a long look at what european countries did and how effective and much less costly it was to raise the performance of their youth and thus make their country better off in the new competitive world

This is so typical. So many people in this culture are all about themselves. These teachers are over paid already. The kids aren't getting any smarter. The tax payers can't afford any more. They're out of touch. Unions stink. We should be able to fire them all! get fresh hungry people to fill their cushy jobs. This is so much a part of what's wrong with this country. You can't fix what needs fixing, because it's all bound up in complication.

I think they should do the same thing to the teachers that Reagan did to the air traffic controllers in the 80's when they went on strike, fire them! There's plenty of college grads out there who would be happy to get the kind of money teachers are getting. In these hard times, now is not the time to be greedy.

Puerta will be running for state house or Senate when this thing is over. He has his name in the news and that is all it takes. I have seen so many of these board members make a name for themselves to then propel them into higher political office. Then Puerta can give himself a raise at 2 am and garner all the mdeical benefits that Congress gets.

Unbelievable, EVERYONE is struggling. EVERYONE is cutting costs. People here at work have voluntarily cut their hours back. God FORBID that happens in the Saucon Valley School District. They live in their own little bubble, where no one can touch them. They've been allowed to get what they want. Spoiled little brats they are. The products of Unions. Meanwhile, students and parents are burdened with trying to figure out daycare for the little ones that are missing school. Some losing hours at work, because no one is able to watch their children, because they CAN'T AFFORD IT!. ALL OF SV TEACHERS in FAVOR of the strike should be FIRED!

Hey this is down right rude, I am a Teacher for the Saucon Valley and just because a new contract was complete two years ago, does not mean we are getting paid what is due. We will strike until we get a new contract, if that mean years than that will be done!

Oh please you make me wanna puke... What these Soo called Teachers are doing in no less than what the other ones do in the other School Districts..(Example Parkland) They all Whine Pi$$ B!tch and moan "how tough thier job is" and how they should be paid more..

People are FINALLY FED UP and have now said ENOUGH!!! So it's time for these Prima Donna's to either suck it up and go back to work or FIND ANOTHER JOB!!!!!!!!!!

NO SYMPATHY ANY LONGER!!!! FIRE THEM NOW!!!!!!!!!

As I had said MANY TIMES before bring the issue to the TAX PAYERS and ALLOW them to VOTE on the School Budget... Give the TAX PAYER the right to Approve or REJECT thier raises/benefits...
Futhermore THROW the UNION right out on thier TAILS TOO!!!

Or maybe he is someone who is barely making ends meet as it is and raising his taxes is going to put him further in debt and maybe he might lose his home.

Any teacher who strikes shows a lack of respect for the students and the community. I remember when I was a young lad and Twin Valley elementary went on strike. A local farmer loaded his manure spreader up and made his way down to the school. Needless to say the statement was made.

Teachers either need to be happy with their current pay and jobs or move on. This economy is not going to support any more raises in it's current state. Of course, if you are filled with Greed you really can't see that or probably do not care.
