I am totally disgusted with the teachers decision to strike. What's it going to get them......nothing! A strike didn't help the last time! All it does is disrupt everyone's lives! Besides the obvious of creating upheaval for the students, they are also taking paychecks away from the other employees of the district who cannot work because school is not in seesion. Yes, maybe they can collect unemployment, but that doesn't help someone who is single or has to live paycheck to paycheck. Selfish, selfish move teachers! I am very disappointed in you! There is no reason why you cannot continue working without a contract!

I am very disapointed in the Saucon Valley teachers decision to strike. If this is what they were planning to do then they should've done it at the start of the school year.

This is just crazy. And to do this on Homecoming Week when there are events planned! I guess it shows how much these teachers care about the students , which they keep saying they do!! Absolutely unbelieveable!!!

Maybe it's time that these, so called educators are dismissed. Then they could be replaced by teachers whom are willing to work. Saucon Valley teachers are nothing more then boils on the rears of the tax payers. It's time to end this. Fire every single on of them and hire people whom are willing to work!

This is getting ridiculous now, the teachers should be told take it or leave it, there are other teahers out there without jobs that would take these jobs in a heart beat.

As a parent of students in the Saucon Valley School District, I am saddened by the lack of compassion and continued upheaval that the teacher's union continues to bestow upon our community. This Friday is Homecoming at Saucon, with spirit activities planned throughout the week. It is incredibly hard for the students to feel spirit because of the lack of collaboration coming from their teachers.

WOW ! to give a strike notice before the board has a chance to review your current proposal. Now that just is ignorant, selfish & childish. You are leaving scarring affects on the community by pulling a stunt like this. Honestly !

If parents started raising their children correctly and not leave it up to SVSD teachers all the time, we wouldn't worry so much about getting paid to baby sit your misbehaved children.

Unbelievable. People are out of work, some of those that have jobs are getting pay cuts, social security and military retirement pay are not getting raises this year, and these jokers want to go on strike. The fact that they teach kids with more money does not make them better teachers. No wonder Johnny still can't read - their teachers are more concerned with their paychecks than teaching!!! These folks have been screwing with the school district just about long enough. Too bad they can't be fired.

Isn't this the district where a lady dressed up like a pig to display her feelings toward the teachers. So the parents are acting just as badly as the teachers. Teachers do not get respect anyway so why not strike? When you are displayed as a pig, how much lower can they go?

Way to show your support to the students.....If you think this will make people of the community give you support when you ruined the one week that is so supposed to show SCHOOL SPIRIT being Spirit Week - Homecoming....what a way to show your Spirit....we all know it lies in your pockets and not with the students you so claim to be here for.....

In a work stoppage, Homecoming is a non-issue. So someone is not going to be named king or queen or in today's world king and king or queen and queen.

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Aries

Someone wants to go their own way today and they won't care whose feathers they ruffle in the process. It's a lunar eclipse at the Full Moon in Cancer, so let them get on with it. The last thing you should do now is to hang on to their coat-tails or do anything else that will make them feel restricted. Make it plain that you've got your own fish to fry, thank you very much. And try not to let it stop you enjoying yourself. Have a great night!
