Our little in-house meeting we were notified on Tuesday..........
The union wants to open our contract and give back....one holiday, personals, a wage freeze, and increase our co-pays...... I hear. And do we get to vote on that???
What about management? What are they willing to give up??? And what about the rest of the county workers....they get to keep their benefits??? While we (Gracedale employees) are giving up our monies, evereyone else gets to skate away !!

Why doesnt the media come in house to "view" the whole story.....?

Anyone realize what has happened?

synopsis;

1. Angle/Stoffa took the initial heat for proposing to sell

2. Stoffa/Angle said they needed 10 million in consessions to keep it

3. The union hashed out a quick 3 million and are working on more

4. "OTHER" concil members have proposed a resolution for THIS THURSDAYS MEETING to decide the fate of Gracedale

5. The "OTHERS" just happen to be on the Angle/Stoffa bandwagon of sell it

6. The heat is off Angle/Stoffa the union made consessions making it a better prospect for buyers because they see the employees will suc.k dic.k to keep their jobs.

7. SUPRISE SUPRISE ANGLE/STOFFA CHICAGO STYLE BACK ROOM POLITICS!!!

To all the Gracedale employees

YOU'VE BEEN HAD!!!

Just remember when these fine politicians ask for your vote in the future!!!

PONTIOUS PILOT DOES NOT DESERVE YOUR VOTE BECAUSE HE WASHED HIS HANDS IN FRONT OF YOU

No one cares unless it directly affects them....like I said...where are our county brothers and sisters union or not....shouldn't we all be in this together....cut all county BONUSES AND PERKS....wonder what that would total up to. Eventually it will all trickle down. Why do some county employees receive bigger bonuses for the same years worked as others....why do some deserve more holidays than others...etc....please get real people...we are all human beings here trying to pay our way in society and yet there are those that feel they are more entitled than others. We all have roofs to keep over our heads and most have children to feed and clothe. I am willing to make concessions to save my job and those of my county co-workers because I know they need their paycheck as much as I do mine.

I challenge Mr Stoffa and Mr Angle to release to the public the salaries, bonuses and perks of all County Employees Union and Non Union. I think the public and the employees need to know all the details to be able to make an informed decision about "Our County Nursing Home" after all we are all paid by the tax-payers of our County. I would also like to know who is in the running to be purchasing the County Home and what is intended to be done with the profit if the home is sold or leased. Your decisions will affect not only the tax payers of this county, it will also affect the 600 plus Residents of the Facility and the 600 plus Employees and their families.

How about this...Northampton doesn't sell Gracedale, but instead runs it as a separate "profit center" in that it must be responsible for it's own profits and losses without the support of the County. That would, of course, work both ways...if Gracedale turns a profit the money is not returned to the County. But if Gracedale loses money, it would be responsible for somehow cutting costs/raising prices, whatever, to make up the shortfall.

If Gracedale cannot be supported without County taxpayer support, then it should be sold. I suspect that some private firm can make it profitable, otherwise there wouldn't be companies in the nursing home business. It's now just a matter of determining how the County can make Gracedale a true "stand-alone" operation.
