Williams Township ruling goes Chrin's way

Full story: The Morning Call

Williams Township supervisors voted Wednesday to rezone the Chrin Bros. Sanitary Landfill and the adjoining 22 acres, a decision that could allow for expansion and will probably prompt legal challenges while further inflaming the already divided community.

Chrin Landfill is a good business neighbor.

As long as Chrin continues to ignore already-existing odor problems, why on earth should the business be granted new favors by the community? The three township employees are guilty of dereliction of duty and should not only be voted out but investigated. This situation doesn't add up. What's the missing factor here? Money? Intimidation?

Did you expect the decision to be different? Do I smell pay-off?

Ed Herman wrote that the landfill was well-run. People should look up SCOTT SKIRPAN who almost died at the landfill in 2006. Here's one news account of that story:''Scott Skirpan had been working in the Chrin Sanitary Landfill in Williams Township on June 2006 when, about 9:30 a. m., he was run over by a multi-ton tracked vehicle that crushed both of his legs. With his legs all but severed, bone, muscle and blood vessels destroyed, Skirpan stayed conscious and called 911."

Is that a SAFE landfill? Do workers get crushed at SAFE landfills? The guy had to call 911 himself because no one noticed that he had been run over.

So sorry to read this result, but if ever there was an example of supervisors not caring about the community... These supervisors should be voted out but it takes time and effort to find good candidates and get the vote out!

fist of all I can't believe that any developer would have had the right mind to build a housing complex right next to a landfill that stinks everyone can smell it and 2nd people actually bought them? 3rd and most important residents must pay attention to their local politcs and who's running and what not we the people have the power by voting.... who cares how much effort you have to put in it......if you don't put much to none in then you got what you got and the almight buck will win.

Thanks for keeping the landfill RIGHT where it is. Why not expand? Now we don't have to move it elsewhere. Maybe YOUR backyard. Plus, the Twp. needs the tax base & the tonage increase. By the time this expansion takes effect half of these "people" will be long gone. They never stay put in one place anyway. I really admire Hixson & Doeer for not letting the group intimadate them. They made the right decsion.
My feeling all along was that the landfill was there & lets KEEP it there.

WOW!!...I checked out the old articles on this and you're right!!

Wonder why this never made the news big time...the poor man had to call 911 himself and almost bled to death and it wasn't all over the papers!!??

Leave it to the Chrin's to manage their dirty laundry well....too bad that can't manage garbage well...only Fred Mebus gets it...the others are dopes...the dump is not supposed to stink!!!!!

You have it pretty much right except for a few important facts:

1 - the TWP supervisors (all dopes) changed the zoning to allow for the golf course and homes there

2 - the DUMP is NOT supposed to SMELL...it's against the law

3 - People were told the zoning wasn't going to change and it shouldn't change...zoning change are serious and shouldn't be sold for a buck a ton of trash

4 - the good old boy network is still strong in WMS TWP...they don't want anyone else on the board...Chrin pulls the strings...period (Doerr is a good example...he was against this change, campaigned on it and gets in there and all of a sudden it's a good idea...corrupt or black-mailed...which is it?)

The hold-outs, who turned down a legitimate offer back in 2007 to get bought out, have no choice now but to appeal in the courts, hoping to make such a pest of themselves that they will get their price.

All this will cost town taxpayers even more money in court costs and legal fees. So all you yahoos who claim a violation of human rights on this can dig a little deeper when the tax bill comes around next year. In the end, last night's decision will stand and the house, which once was a dump, will become a dump again.

I like your idea!! Chrin can break the law on weekends and evenings and then it's ok!!...great timing when people are home from work.

Does Chrin have any intelligent supporting him?

MAY I ASK WHAT ALL YOU INTELLIGENT PEOPLE DO WITH YOUR GARBAGE??? AND BY THE WAY, DO ANY OF YOU HAVE A SOLUTION??? All the complainers do is gripe about a landfill that has been there for more than 50 years,(which you probably helped to fill) but have never suggested a solution. Oops sorry, someone said the gases could be turned into electricity, but I think he was turned down when he wanted to try.
AND BY THE WAY, IT DOESN'T SMELL ON WEEKENDS or evenings.
DOES ANYONE PASS THE LANDFILL IN PLAINFIELD TWP? TELL ME THAT ONE DOESN'T SMELL, BUT THEN, THAT WAS A WEEKEND THAT I PASSED IT.
IT IS A LANDFILL!!!!!

Charles Chrin needs to be investigated by federal authorities. Racketeering, Political Bribes, EPA violations.....you name it! This guy is dirty. He is like Boss Hawg of Palmer Township. He owns the damned place!! Now this guy wants to build an entrance/exit to route 33 himself? Come on.....investigate this hack.
