You need to go read the actual wording of a hate crime law. Most people haven't read such a thing, so they post reams of bull crap based opinions on the subject matter.

To start out, the RACE of the accused isn't even mentioned in the elements of a hate crime. Secondly, only a dunce says, "I killed that man BECAUSE I thought he was gay, or black or Catholic, or Socialist, or Italian!". That's about the only way a person can get convicted of a hate crime is if they open their own stupid mouths when they commit the crime.

Like I said, poeple arguing about hate crime laws are typically fully ignorant as to the wording of the statute itself, find the law and read it first before yaking about and save yourself a ton of frustration besides.
