Think about it a bit. Tobacco companies are throwing this kind of money at influence. That only includes the money that moves in visible ways and with obvious intent to affect.

The last story I saw about RJR's profits said they weren't QUITE up to expectations during a quarter, as they only amounted to something over $300 Million. This was, the story said, partly due to their spending over $150 Million on a single lawsuit in Texas.

Now, with the quantitative sale of cigarettes dropping (noted in multiple articles on tobacco companies' profits recently), where do you suppose they get the money for these things?

THEY CHARGE THE ADDICTS MORE FOR EVERY SMOKE! And, like good little addicts, you all kick in. And they laugh at you and crank out more propaganda to help you delude yourselves that smoking really isn't all that bad for you or yours, and you grasp at that, too.
