Fosters are needed for animals on Long Island - Many animals are being given up because their owners cannot keep them any more.

WHY? There can be many reasons - never-the-less ...
The situation needs help - foster families are needed
to house the homeless animals - If we can re-home
animals we can get others out of the very high KILL SHELTERS -

New York City Animal Care & Control is extremely guilty of this.
Though they say they are placing XXX numbers of animals, one just needs to see what goes on through the FACEBOOK rescue pages to know the truth. You can VOLUNTEER at the NYC ACC to help there as well. Short staffed - high kill - not a good combination.

Family pets are being MURDERED every day, because their
families took them to a shelter with no regard as to the pets welfare. Whether they are surrendering them for financial reasons or any other reasons, many times there is little effort made by the shelters to place these animals.

With the help of the PUBLIC stepping up to the plate to help foster, animals can be later placed & adopted AND animals WILL be saved from certain death, by being RESCUED out of the shelters.

Please help if you can help or become a foster CONTACT Long Island Rescues -

There are several - I will post some links -

Thinking about fostering a shelter animal or may want to find out what it's all about, CONTACT an animal rescue in your town & surrounding areas.

Fostering gives animals a SAFE place to wait for their new ADOPTERS. What you receive from the gift you give is a LIFE experience. Love animals & think you want to know more? "LIKE" them on FB - learn how you can help.

Fostering also let's a person have a great experience with an animal short term. Someone may only have a certain period of time in which they could do this.

Can't foster? You can do as much or as little as works for you. Even walking the dogs at these rescues helps. The choice is always yours. If you would like to try to help, call a rescue or visit them on facebook. Search for Dog Rescues. See what it's all about.

Last Chance Animal Rescue needs your help NOW more than ever before! We are desperate for foster homes and volunteers to assist with our rescue efforts. What does this mean? Quite simply without additional resources we are forced to reduce our life saving efforts. As a result we will not be able to spare as many animals from a tragic and unnecessary death. If you are an adopter, please remember that your beloved pet was saved because someone said yes to volunteering and fostering.

As we focus on summer fun, graduations, weddings and family events, this is a depressing reality to consider... but it is where we find ourselves today. We owe it to the animals to make every effort to avoid their senseless demise, and we hope that you share our passion.

PLEASE, step up and lend a hand and save some lives!! While we are asking you to sacrifice your time as a volunteer at an adoption event, or to accommodate a pet who needs a temporary home, we are confident you will come away with a sense of accomplishment. The reward that comes from knowing that you are saving lives is truly priceless.

Volunteering is also a great things to do as a family, and a wonderful way to introduce children to the importance of community service. Our volunteers and foster families are absolutely CRITICAL to our mission to save lives. Please take a moment to ask yourself - can I spare a few hours or an afternoon? Do I have room to provide an animal a temporary home? Do I want to do something incredibly rewarding?

If the answer is yes - take the next step today and reply to this e-mail (info@lcarescue.org) and join us in our mission to save lives!
