Rage in Oceanside, as Power-less Residents Attack Politicians

They cursed and they yelled outside a public school in Oceanside on Friday. About 700 residents of this town in southern Nassau County faced off against their local, elected officials, including the Town Supervisor, enraged that they 're still without power, 12 days after super storm Sandy flooded their homes and knocked down their utility poles.

Herb Brown a great job of organizing. He pointed out he invited politicians such as Kate Murry and Santino which means they had no intention of coming on their own. Carolyn Mcarthy was asked if she had heat and power and she said yes, then in a prepared speech said I feel you pain, when one guy yelled out no you dont you have heat and power.

Suddenly hundreds of houses have power tonite. Why did it have to happen only because of this morning? The sad part is that is took literally 5 minutes to turn the power on.

No one is angrier than I am at lipa. I'm still without power heat or hot water. Luckier than many thank god but still worried about getting my kids a hot meal. clean clothes and a warm bed at night.

Be angry, demand your rights but don't play into every negative stereotype of a long islander while doing it. Cushing a blue streak while kids wince at your behavior six inches in front of you isnt the way to do it. Calling people out when they pass the buck like Kate Murray and other politicos is what's needed.

lived thru 4 hurricanes in west palm, fl. had left hand amputated by garage door - hurricane jeanne 2004; 140 mph winds; no elec. for 10-14 days 3x. no one complained. we accepted it while fpl. worked their asses off. boy are you people a bunch of wennies. we also had 100 degree temps. and 95% humidity. no elec.; no ac. suck it up. could be worse-try an F5 tornado.
