Just read it,sure is stupid.I thought they got rid of tolls when they removed them from 1.Trout river bridge,
2.The Fuller Warner bridge and 3.And J.T.B, and now they want to add tolls on not one but two roads they are building.I thought the only way the could do that is if we voted on it,which would be NO.

Clear something up for me, Mikey. Are you living in another state?
Are you posting on the Jacksonville, FL for sentimental reasons?
Why do you refer to what "we voted on"?

I remember the toll bridges here in Duval county however if memory serves me correct the tolls where used to raise more for the local budget which included but was not limited to road projects. Basically, it was a revenue source for the city for many years and that is when given an option the voters choose to get rid of the tolls.

As for Branan Field road it was my understanding that the original Road way that included Chaffee to 103rd was paid for by Duval county, the state paid for 103rd street to what amounts to Argyle Forrest blvd. and Clay County paid for Argyle Forrest blvd to Blanding. It is also my understanding that the New Section from I-10 to 103rd street now know as Florida 23 was paid for with state monies and that all Maintenance and upkeep are now the responsibility of the state.

After ready the opinion piece it would seem to me that the writer has a great many facts incorrect.

I see you are listed here as in Charleston, WV. Do you happen to know the Sink family? George Sink was a manager at Maidenform up there, then here in Jacksonville long time ago. Very good folks.

No stevo I sure don`t know them, and for some odd reason I`m mot sure why it comes. up Charleston. I live in Cedar Grove,it`s about 20 miles East of Charleston, but I think you could put all of Kanawha county into Duval-Jax. in it w/more left over. I do know this much, there is only 50,000 people live in Kanawha County with only 1.5 million people in the state. If you want me to I will check for you.I`ve lived up here for about 7 years, but we come home about twice a year, just to say hi to to our friends and check on the house.
