The article was well covered and factual. However, it merely scratches the surface of what is going at the Nassau SO. Narcotics Units typically play it fast and loose based on the nature of the beast. Meaning the type of violator they are dealing with. It is understandable when detectives grow weary and become frustrated with defendants’ actions and the justice system, but it doesn’t excuse the violation of anyone’s civil rights. Tommy lost control of the sheriff’s office the day he took office. He was never qualified to hold the position like a lot of elected officials who won office based on popularity, which is now fading. His overall incompetency and lack of leadership skills are evidence by this most recent news article. Unfortunately, there is no federal charge for being just plain stupid!

No one should be denied their human, civil, and constitutional rights and everyone is supposed to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
