Reading about the B&G Club giving John Phillips an award for "okaying" the use of school buses to transport kids to the after school programs was almost dumfounding.

It was not for a situation where he actually donated his time to drive the children, or personally donated the costs of using the buses, but just his allowing the taxpayers to pay for the usage of taxpayer purchased equipment and taxpayer paid employees.

I hate to think that any portion of any donation went to purchase a plaque for him to hang on his wall.

I, we, are glad to support the B&G Club program, but I certainly cannot approve of such an inappropriate use of such funds.
