I commute every day on Hwy 6 to West Liberty from Iowa City. I'm very concerned about "Dead Man's Curve" on Hwy 6 where the accident with Yvonne Gardenier and her 3 year old son and the guy from Canada driving the semi on Friday, November 16th. I saw the accident wreckage that day. The tire marks definitely indicate the semi driver lost control and rammed the mini-van. Most semi drivers are pretty responsible about maintaining their speed on that road, but if they do not, people are going to get seriously hurt or killed. More often, I see cars that have run off the road, especially in inclement weather. What makes it more difficult is you get people driving well below the speed limit and well above the speed limit - from tractors, to semis to passenger cars. Passing is difficult at best. I'd like to see more enforcement of the speed limit, especially near that curve. Improvements were made on the road just this past year, but obviously it's still quite dangerous.
