just fyi sometimes the clerks wont enter your cash in immediately either, so you have to double and recheck to make sure it is all deposited. I cant tell you how many times we have went in to put that we want cash the check then put the cash into the checking account and they say we cant do that, then it turns into and argument. Ive known several ppl who have switched to other banks because they do this and they charge you for checking fees that is supposedly free, we have had them charge us an overdraft fee for not having enough money in our account, it was at the end of and in between period we had just paid a bunch of bills off, wth? And yea if you look at your statements on line alot of times when they take money out of your account it the large ones first and not in the order you spend its all bizarre and fishy

They do largest to smallest hoping you overdraft on the large amount and they can hit you with fees for every other transaction. I mean that is pretty damn dirty, and this comes from a person who is far from kosher. Get out of that bank if you know whats good for you.

Yeah I'm switching from Old National they take fees out when you don't have a certain amount in your account every month and the fee goes by how much is in your account.

<quoted text> Yeah, right! I worked at a bank (not Old National but one of their competitors) for about ten years and I know how banks (and their oversights work). If you actually got a receipt then it is impossible for anyone to "steal" your money from within the bank. The receipt also set a "course of action" that made this transaction visible in several different places within the banking system. The entire system (not only Old National's but their correspondent bank - the larger bank they deposit their funds into) would have been out of balance by the same $800.00 and no one could have closed out the day's business until this "discrepancy" was found. The paper trail could have been easily (matter of minutes) traced. Your $800.00 was never placed in the bank. Not defending Old National here but the banking system has too many "checks and balances" for this to happen. I always got stories about "the bank made an error." Sometimes they do but they can always find them and get them corrected. The only way they can make an error is to have a "counterbalancing error" on the same day for the same amount. What are the odds of that??? Sorry Charlie but your story don't wash!
I have previous banking experience and I had strange things happen with my own account and if I had not had the experience to realize something was wrong and kept after it I would have been out of the money also. One involved a withdrawal from my savings account that was not mine. Since I only got a quarterly statement I did not realize it until the statement came. They never told me what happened but I did get my money back. Another time it involved a transaction that affected another account and again it was fixed but I was never told what happened and I worked there! Banks make mistakes but as a depositor you better watch your account like a hawk. Just saying..

Maybe if you people learned to balance a checkbook you wouldn't be over drafting and getting charged fees. Here's a tip for you, always round up when recording your spending in your ledger. Also, if you only have 5 dollars left in your account, skip the damn coke at the gas station! Nobody ever died from waiting until they got home to have a glass of water or a soda pop if you must!
a jeeze ur so full of it i can send u my ledger and show u how the do it , other banks are already settling lawsuits because of it they configure the transactions how they want , not how you spend it , so if you need a copy let me know , but you might be right if it is all checks and no debits :) thx

That story does wash! I had a similiar thing happen to me. They deducted my account for a check written by someone else, to someone else that had zero to do with my account. I had to call multiple times, send emails and write letters. Even after I obtained a copy of the check they deducted from my account and showed it to the staff, they didn't immediately solve the situation. It took me three months and hours of my time to get my money back due to what must have been a clerical error at the bank. Old National is the biggest joke of a business that I've ever dealt with.

Old National Bank is a joke!!!! I was banking with Bank of America for years and loved it. Then was notified ONB was buying them out. OK, the instance I was transferred it has been a nightmare. On Saturday, I deposited a check through the ATM at ONB (like I would normally do at Bank of America, funds available within 24 hours, or next business day) and Tuesday comes around and still no $. Called to find out the issue and was informed there was at least a 7 day business hold on my check..... WOW. Reason being the check was "a large amount".. HAHAHA. OK, since a couple thousand is a large amount. I was told it will be seven more business days (12 days total) before I can access my money. This check was Government issued and should be available the next day according to terms and conditions. Another money hungry operation in place. DO NOT BANK HERE!!!!!!!!!

Most every person working at the onb are smart ass b's.Ive been dealing with there hateful ass mouths for years. If you're not on there suck list, they treat u like a dog. I will say that Mrs Jordan is always nice, shes at the Beechmont branch. Everyone working for ONB should take lessons from her . There's times we drive there just to avoid the disrespect we receive at the other branches. Yes they act like a 2000 dollar check is alot and put a hold on it.Bet they show favorites on that too.HOPE EVERYONE CHANGES BANKS!!!

Years ago I switched from onb because of three errors that caused me a lot of embarrassment, but they were never willing to admit error or apologize. Once they put a $500 deposit into some whose name is similar, but one letter different, causing me to write cold checks. Another time, three months after our last mortgage auto payment, some one thought oh wow no mortgage payment for three months, so instead of calling they deducted three mortgage payments from checking, so again cold checks bounced. Our house was paid off, but when I called they said they could not believe me, and would accept no fault. Took paid off deed in and they reimbursed and I made them call all places where cold checks written, so I paid no fees. After third time Of missing money from checking I switched banks.
