Second Amendment needs revisiting
By JAMES PORFIDO I read Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll's commentary, 'Tragedy prompts lame attack on guns.' One can only express shock and disbelief over Carroll's attempt to make gun control a party issue.

OK Jimmy, ya wanna 'revisit' the second amendment? Let's call a constitutional convention and address all sorts of issues.
Remember that linkage between taxation and representation? I'd like to revisit that. I think that people who pay no tax should get no vote while people and corporations that pay lots of taxes should get lots of votes. Yeah, let's revisit that.
I'd also like to 'revisit' the issue of succession. I don't think the constitution as currently written adequately addresses that issue. If the republics of the Soviet Union had the right to succeed, I think the states, counties, cities and individuals of this union should be able to succeed as well. We'll discuss this further at the convention, OK Jimmy?
Then there's citizenship. I understand some folks illegally immigrate into this country to have what are called 'anchor babies' that are automatically given citizenship. Perhaps we should 'revisit' this as well.
How 'bout a common national language to facilitate a more perfect union? Our current constitution, though written in somewhat archaic English is largely silent on this issue. Let's 'revisit' it at the convention.
So Jimmy, I'm looking forward to that constitutional convention. We'll have a lot to discuss.

It is not about the Tea Party or Palin or Bachman. It is about gun control. They use words like 'crosshairs' because they're working up to the gun control stuff because what they're really after is govt control over the people.
They know the govt can't control us if we are armed. They also know they can't prove the govt control thing is superior if we have guns.
They're at a latter stage in their political struggle for govt dominance over the people. This particular stage involves telling all kinds of unbelieveable lies.
If they say the world is flat, we're supposed to believe it, just because, just because they say it, it must be true.
They are the reason why we have a PRE WRITTEN set of rules (the Bill of Rights). Without the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (they love to either ignore it or twist it) we would be attending indocrination school every day of our lives (if we survived).

In my opinion:
If the rabidly antigun nut author (here) were born in Russia, he would be a member of the communist party. If he were born in Laos he would be a member of the Khmer Rouge. If he were born in China he would have killed thousands of peasants who were blamed for the failed communist experiments.
If James Porfido were born in Rwanda, he would have given the orders to hack to death (with machetes) a million Rwandan peasants.
These antigun crusaders always blame others for the failures of mankind. They refuse to blame themselves, or they refuse to acknowledge that human beings are inherently imperfect.
