In this time of scarce and costly fuel resourced it's time to look into improving alternative means of getting around. One way to start is making it safer for pedestrians and bicycle riders and this is sorely lacking in Morris County. Walking down Green Pond Road to Main Street in Rockaway for example, a pedestrian can really put is life on the line; I have to basically walk in the road. There are no sidewalks and when get you get past the route 80 under pass there's just a guard rail and road and if there is some type of side walk on the other side of the rail it is severely over grown with brush. My suggestion is instead of wasting resources widening roads for air polluting, gas guzzling clunkers; why not make improvements by simply making safe pathways for pedestrian and bicyclers.

The example on Green Pond Road is just one example of how difficult it is commute other than by car in Morris County. The same is true in Parsippany, and other towns. Today more and more people are opting to a healthier and cheaper way of commuting but have found it difficult and downright dangerous. There are just no sidewalks. Just in the past ten years there have been numerous fatalities involving pedestrians and bicyclists on route 46 Parsippany, alone. So, I think there need to be more Sidewalks and Bike lanes or pathways along the roads in all Morris County towns.
