A Shame

it is a real shame to hear about this crossing guard. Our town knew him as a law abiding citizen who was on the ambulance squad, and fire department making the lives of victims better. Well, we were wrong. He hid his true identity behind his job, a job where he see's kids twice a day! If he was approached in 1998 about the subject, why was he still a crossing guard? We all believe he was such a nice man, someone who would help you at the drop of a hat. Everybody has to really keep their eyes open on people. Obviously, you never know who is living a double lifestyle.

He is still a good guy, nobody is perfect. I have known John for many, many years and have always looked to him for his guideance and professionalism. I feel really bad for his victim and family, but John is still a very good person from within the heart. My prayers and thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time. How many lives has John and others saved over forty years by their selfless acts of kindness?. Does any one ever stop and think, how many times has he woken in the middle of the night to an emergency call, get out of bed and go and save someone. These emergency calls can consist of trouble breathing or even a possible cardiac arrest. These patients could have been your Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Grandparents, Daughter, Son or even your neighbor. Well I bet you didn't think about that did you? Being an EMS volunteer myself is tough, but it has its rewards. Its knowing that you can safely get people to the hospital, and keep the survival link active.
If you don't have anything to say nice about this man, then shut your trap. If everybody could give a helping hand to the community as John has, then as far as I am concerned you have nothing to say .......... period.

Listen. I never said i didn't have anything GOOD to say about him. All i said is that it is a shame to see this happen. He was a very kind man who had love for everbody. His spot on the ambulance squad was very sacred. He was always there for you. Any Don't you tell me to shut my trap because obviously, your not gettin it through your thick head that he molested a girl. It might not look like a big deal in your eyes, but to others, its something to think about. He is a very good man, with the wrong ideas, thats all. and as far as I AM concerned, YOU have nothing to say. You got what i said completely wrong.

EMS needs some time. I don't think it hit him/her yet. The severity of the situation. We are talking about a 4 year old. An innocent, precious little 4 year old who is now 15 (whom John admitted to molesting). Who has to live with this for the rest of her life. Yes, we are all human but this is much more than a "mistake". Someone with a good heart does not make these kind of "mistakes" as EMS put it. I've known John all my life. I know all of John's volunteer work and now question all of his kindnesses. And I have every right to feel this way. We all have a right to feel the way we feel. He fooled us all. An entire town. He is a wolf in sheeps clothing.

To EMS - People need to vent. You shouldn't tell people to shut their trap. We all have a right to our opinion....not just you.

God Bless all the VICTIMS!!!!

You hit the nail on the head Bucko ---- it could have been my DAUGHTER or SISTER who was molested ....of course, not my mother, father, brother or grandparents....TOO OLD. Postings like yours only make people angrier. John is like an apple ... nice and shiny on the outside and rotten to the core on the inside...GET IT!!!!!!!!!!

Your Prayers go out to John and his family?!?! What about the poor defensless child that he abused? You don't even mention her! How dare you minimalize what has happened to her, by saying what a great guy he is. All of the good things that John has done for people does not make it OK for him to molest a child of 4-6 years old for a year and a half!!! You need to realize that HE DID THIS and amitted to doing it!! His forty years of helping and saving people with the rescue squad does not make it OK to ruin the life of a child. The abuse may have happened ten years ago, but she will have to live with this for the rest of her life. HOW DARE YOU defend this monster and try to make this horrific act seem petty. What if he did this to one of you own? Would his good deeds make that alright as well? Think about that before you tell others to "shut their traps."

My thoughts go out the victim and her family.

When my family and I heard this news we were shocked. He did seem like a good man. I agree that no one has the right to judge him or his actions, but we sure as hell can be mad that he fooled us all. Molesting a child is no minor indiscretion! For God's sakes he was on the JCR! judging the actions of kids when he had molested one! How do we even know there was only one child who was hurt in all of this?

We do not know if it was one child. Of course, if it was your child or you as a child, it would mean a whole hell of a lot!!!!!!!

its coming out 10 years later because the girl was 4. There is no way a 4 year old little girl is gonna say anything. She was probably scared to death as she grew older. Now, at age 15, she felt she could do something about it. And at this age, she is old enough to tell the judge what really happened.

Good guy, my ass! GOOD GUYS DON'T MOLEST CHILDREN!!!!!! Period.

Instead of acting on these "curious" feelings (as he put it...disgusting), he should have gone for help. It's called therapy. Now the victim will be in therapy probably for the rest of her life. The SELFISH ROTTEN BASTARD!!!

A good guy?
He Molested A Helpless Child between the ages of 4 - 6. How is that "good" in your eyes? Now this girl has to grow up with this memory in the back of her mind. I wouldn't be surprised if more children came forward, revealing a sick and twisted game. He had everyone fooled. Everybody thought he was a "good guy" but look at this, wrong! Open your eyes, he's got a sick mind that will never be cured.
