We already do that where I work.

Some people paid salaried come and go as they please and if added up, they are not at their office more than 2 days a week. They get paid more AND save $ on gas.

LMAO!!!

I agree 100%- I always joked with my family that if I ever ran for office a 4 day work week would be part of my platform!

From an employee perspective, it would be great for morale and the gas tank, too!

I wish my employer would go for it!

If I read this right, only 40% of the employees wiil have a 3 day weekend. The rest will have Tues, Wed or Thurs off. I can just see the cat fights breaking out now over who gets Mon and Fri off.

I'm not sure the savings would be all that big for the individual, but every little bit helps. And if many organizations did this I could actually make a significant savings nationally.
I used to work 4 10 hour days, but honestly because of the type of work, I ended up the day off sleeping half of it! This is one of those things that I think, "It can't hurt to try"

Lehigh County should be visionary and set the example for many other counties by adopting this schedule for their employees. It would be a good morale booster, too!
Lehigh County won't do this because they don't care about their employees.

Simple solution: Rotating days off.

I work for a county gov't and would love the extra time off. But the unions will fight this tooth & nail. It's considered a change in working conditions and unions hate that.

Can I expect a restriction that the employee will stay home on his day off and not get a second job or go to the shore for the day?

The idea is intended to save gas correct? If the employee burns gas the concept is shot up the butt.
